I guess if you're looking for a silver lining for Kentucky we've been beaten four times this year, once by a guy who was hitting double-clutch threes, another time when we missed a three at the buzzer to win, and the other time on a questionable goaltend.
That's not bad.
The downside is we have the #1 team in the nation coming in Saturday and two losses in a row would be brutal. I like LSU a lot and think they're a borderline elite team, but they aren't Tennessee. That second half effort we saw tonight gets us beat bad by the Vols.Comment

Oh, one final thing.
On the offensive rebound after Keldon Johnson's crazy miss on the floater (seriously, how did that not go in?), Reid Travis rebounds it. All he has to do is throw it to a guard. He gets it stolen and LSU goes down to take the lead.
You have to control that ball and get it out. We could've won the game right there. That's your senior. I couldn't believe he threw that ball away.Comment

Will I agree with you on Reid Travis, he just couldn’t handle the size and athleticism down low, as for LSU I think they ARE an elite team, they just came in here and beat us on national TV. I have enjoyed this season and like this team but it’s not gonna make it to the Final Four, our guards simply aren’t good enough to get us there, that kid from LSU could get them there with the right draw.Last edited by Jload; 02-12-2019, 09:28 PM.Comment

I think we're a Final Four type of team but not if Hagans plays that way.
You can't get manhandled at the point guard position like we did. You could lose in the first weekend if that happens. Hagans looked out of it and rattled 90 seconds in. I thought Quickley played better but Quickley is a little soft offensively and missed some easy shots.
Hagans played his worst game of the year and he was playing against one of the best point guards we've seen all year. Really hard to win like that even at home.
We missed a lot of easy open shots too but we were shooting so much out of our offense. A lot of that is Hagans but Washington getting in foul trouble also came at a critical stretch.Comment

I don't think we're in the danger zone or anything three-point wise. We're about 35%. With the way we rebound (usually) and the way we play defense (usually) that's not danger.
Problem is we have a guy at the point who can't shoot a lick and anytime that's the case teams can clog like crazy on you. Ask John Wall.Comment

Another thing I noticed was that Tyler Herro was way too jacked up. Reminded me of the Duke Herro.
Needs to calm down. I think the reason he plays so well on the road is that he can play the game with a chip on his shoulder and not get so freakishly pumped that he's taking weird shots. That pull-up in transition when it was 2-on-2 was absurd.
This is concerning simply because you don't want him to go all Devin Booker in the NCAA Tournament. We need Road Herro.Comment

Herro took at least 2 bad shots. One was the one Will referred to and the other was the jumper on the FB with nobody under.John 3:3

I noticed his body language late and he just seemed...jumpy somehow. I like that in some ways; he wants the big shot. But when he's all up in his head he usually isn't playing well.
Herro's better when he's playing mean.Comment
