A much easier win tonight, especially with Johnson, Travis and PJ not being much of a factor. We will need them all Saturday.

      Well....

1.) As I have been saying and many others --- Hagans is the key to this team. IF he can improve his shooting, he's going to be very good. Another year of college - he would go top 10 in the draft - easily.
2.) Richards - Again, I'm as hard on him as any but he's playing better. If he can give this team what he did tonight - the team is going to improve. He's the only guy that can really give you that 'rim protector' feeling.
3.) Reid - Once again - just can't play with big men due to his lack of hops.
4.) EJ and PJ --- The simple point here --- IMO EJ needs to play more and PJ needs to sit more... EJ needs a role and needs to play. He played well tonight.

5.) Crean still sucks as a coach. He's been terrible other than when he had Wade.
6.) Georgia looked terrible to me. Very fast and athletic - terrible shot selection most of the game.

So it has been a while since really watching this team. Hagens is really coming on. 13 JB has come a long way. PJ / Travis / Herro still do not look that great. Not horrible. Just expect too much maybe. Johnson was their key on Defense as well as Herro. Herro at least fought to get some points and rebounds and such. Johnson just did not look engaged in this game. Might just be an off night. Richards was good Nick tonight as well as EJ. I enjoyed watching for once this year.

Would Hagans be eligible for the NBA after this season due to his age? I don't have a clue.
              Thanks

                Yes, he's eligible. Unfortunately.

Sort of the game I expected last night but I didn't expect Hagans to play like that considering Cal's guys who go back home rarely ever have good games. He's a star, man.

And as others have said, I loved last night's Nick Richards. That's not a bad Georgia front line and he played great. If that's who he can be going forward I like Kentucky's chances to hit its ceiling.

Keldon Johnson is in a severe funk all of a sudden. That's not good because if we roll into Auburn and have just one guy clanking shots we'll have no chance. This game will be the toughest we've played since Duke and if we don't have all-hands-on-deck then they could beat us by double digits.

I mentioned in the other thread how Kentucky's offensive and defensive efficiency would tell the tale about whether we could be a Final Four-caliber team.

Last night Kentucky's defensive efficiency improved by 10 points.

I had thought Herro would be a star after the Bahamas trip, but he has played like a 4 star amongst 5 stars.

Herro has actually had a really good season so far. Does a lot of stuff. Rebounds well. Chases loose balls better than anybody we've got. Is still averaging about 14 per which is solid. Doesn't shoot the ball from outside as well as you would think and is more of a basket-attacker and a mid-range guy.

Hasn't played well the last couple of games. It's interesting that as Hagans has pushed up a couple of the others have dropped back. I would imagine they're trying to figure out how they fit with a point guard who has become a really good attacker. As a guard you have to be willing to get what you can get when your point guard starts to just blow past people and score.

                          I disagree.

He looks like a NBA-calibre five star guy to me. He's sneaky athletic, he can get to the basket and finish. Good rebounder. He's just clanking a lot of shots right now, but his form is too pure to continue like that forever.

Tyler Herro is a player, and he's going to be very good.

I suppose my the last half of my sentence was a bit of an overstatement - I agree Herro is a very good player who does a lot of things that don't stand out. I love him as a player - he just hasn't been as standout as I expected after his play in the Bahamas, but neither has this team.

I definitely thought Herro would be shooting better than 32% from three.

But it makes sense. He's basically a slasher. He just doesn't look the part of a slasher.

Needs to stay another year and get his outside shot to the point where he's in the 40s. At the NBA level he'll obviously have to be an assassin of a jumpshooter and he isn't there yet.
