Love you, 85 Fly, but this is a terrible take.

Briscoe and Hagans are nothing alike.

But the 51 missed 3's have hurt considerably. And when I watch him shoot 3's it looks like he is an incredible shooter when he goes straight up. If he's drifting right he misses right. If he's drifting left--which is less often--he misses left. The potential game winner against Alabama--body going in toward basket--hits back iron. He can make floaters in the lane but has to go straight up from deep. As probably everyone should.
This is all true but I actually think Herro is a more well-rounded player than Doron was as a freshman.

Now as a sophomore you could put Doron on the other team's best and Doron would lock him down. But Herro isn't a terrible defender and he reads passing lanes well. He also rebounds well and chases down loose balls.

The ability to chase loose balls is something people literally never talk about with basketball players. But the ability to grab those is arguably one of the most important parts of this sport.

Herro has a nose for the ball. Always around it. I love him as a player. Gets to the rim, attacks people's chests, hits foul shots. The only thing he's missing is that deadly, Jamal Murray-esque outside shot. But I saw where he was taking 2,000 shots a day, so you'd have to think he'll become a great shooter at some point.

Kudos to CatsRock about Herro shooting the ball and leaning, pretty good analysis. If he learns to go straight up, could make a world of difference.

As for Herro, let's just be honest, i been wanting a Chapman replica style players since the 80's. I just hope that he will stick around another year maybe two before he decides to leave, kid could be a great college player and who knows, could make it on NBA team as well....

Hagens reminds me of Wayne Turner.

The closest comp for Hagans has to be Rajon Rondo.

The length is crazy and every time I watch him I think about how brutal it must be to try to bring the ball up against that.

Going back to the conversation about top 20 players, Murray State probably has one in the top 5: Ja Morant.

He's unbelievable and looks to be a superstar in the making.

Yes but bigger and i do believe he will improve his shot good enough down the road, mechanics doesn't look Rajon or MKG like.

As good as John Wall was and has been in the NBA, many now feel that Wall's hasn't put in enough work for the past 8 to 9 years to improve his range and jumper on the next level, nobody looking to build a franchise around John Wall nowadays and that includes the Wizards. Earlier in the year Wizards let everyone know everyone was available including Wall but his contract makes it hard to move him....

Wow, can you imagine if any team came into Rupp and beat us by 20, that's just what happened to North Carolina at the hands of Louisville today. Carolina and it's tradition is just as big and passionate as ours, imagined if this happened to Cal?

Point is, i hate the way we play sometimes but it could be worse, if i was a Carolina fan i would be wanting Roy Williams fired today lol lol lol lol lol

Hagans- That was my opinion at the time, and actually since high school BUT NOW I SMILE when I read what I said and your response...I'm pleasantly surprised of the turn-around and the play maturity I'm witnessing now... did he play extremely well against LSU no, does he still need to work on a shot-yes, is he significantly better with his decision making/shot selection yes.
