Cote, Sheray Thomas, Brandon Stockton, Josh Carrier, Shagari Alleyne, all of those guys were pretty mediocre players.

Tubby brought in a player from England in his last year. IIRC, his name was Morikanya Williams or something like that. I just shook my head when I saw him because I knew he would never help out. Also knew then Tubby was in the business of just wanting to develop players. That was his ultimate challenge.

From the Joe B Hall era the most random player who never played at UK was Gunther Behnke. He was a 7 footer from Germany and I am not sure he ever stepped foot in this country. A big deal was made of him at the time but he left before he ever came here.

Good call about Mike Williams - I'd forgotten about him completely.

I think after the 02-04 stretch, Tubby started drinking the poison that he could recruit second tier players and develop them into high caliber teams - especially with the Joe Crawford and Randolph Morris sagas.

I think Uwe Blab's success at IU had UK excited about Gunther Behnke. Then he never showed up. I remember a photo of him walking down a street in Germany (I assume) where his entire upper body was above the crowd. That apparently was the highlight of his career.

I'd put him about on par with Mark Coury. Luckily for us Wynyard was never forced to play major minutes.

I didn't expect him to come back. He needs a change of schools. Hard to live it down. Still not as bad as the player that stole the coaches son's gold chains and got caught on camera selling them at the gold shack. The Sutton era gave us so much history.

Wow, I didn't want to go that far back.

Per LHL article Wynyard has landed at Santa Clara. His coach is Herb Sendek. I had no idea where Sendek was now.

He will be a factor there and will probably be a starter.

I'll check him out...catch a game online, I grew up in Silicon Valley. I thought he would come out west but I thought he would try to get on with Cal (they are desperate for players, he would get playing time) or St Mary's
