Day 3 NCAA Tournament

I've watched an embarrassing amount of basketball over the past week and a half, and the one major takeaway (other than this game is ridiculously fun when there's this much parity) is this:

They've got to do something about the charge/block in college. College officials cannot tell the difference between a flop and an actual foul, and kids are starting to flop virtually every time a guy drives into them.

I said this exact thing last night in the game thread. That one play is ruining the game. Defense is not being taught. All that is being taught is to fall down. I'm just not sure, other than telling officials to stop calling it how to fix that.

IMO officials just need call that a block every time. You would end this setting up for a charge business in a hurry.

That may be what it comes to. It's very obvious that they can't get that call right. And they can't let play go on since there is a guy laying on the floor.

Boy I don't know about that. We looked good and so did Nova. I have to give the edge to dUKe as much as I hate to say it. When they are hitting three's and their big men have it going, they are the best team in this thing. Yesterday they looked unstoppable.

It's always hard to tell about the NCAA Tournament because match-ups dictate so much. Some of these teams just don't match up well and so the way the winner looks is a little inflated. Duke and Rhode Island was a complete mismatch. Rhode Island was trying to guard Bagley with a 6'4" guy. That's ridiculous.

However, I thought Villanova and Alabama matched up pretty well on paper. And Villanova just drilled them. They're the best team in this that I've seen.

But when Duke defends they have very few flaws. I would think Villanova would be much more mentally tough though. Like us, Duke can do some weird things because of their youth.

Wow. Tech is a pretty good team. But the best in the tourney? I saw 3 teams yesterday in Villanova, Duke and UK who would have trounced them.

We’ll see. If they are allowed to foul on every possession they’re going to be a tough out.

The only way that is going to happen is going to the monitor on every block/charge call and that ain't happening. It should though. Too many flops.
