Agreed. I wrote that before the Vanderbilt news. And I would imagine there is no way he plays in the conference tournament. We know Cal hates it to start with. But why take the chance when the important games are next week.

I have a buddy who is a Mizzou booster who has been to a few practices the past week. He said Porter is ready and ready now. He is dominating practices and looks "like a #1 pick".

He (and I) still says there are people around Porter who don't want him to play out of fear of getting hurt. But, from everything he is hearing he totally expects Porter to be playing in the SEC tourney.
Remember last year when Hami was changing our practices, looking like a lottery pick, and "didn't find it hard to guard Fox or Monk?"

Ha - yes, I do. I wonder what happened to that guy. I remember Fox and Monk raving about him and how good his defense was.

However, Porter is on a totally different level than Hami was or ever will be.

Maybe...but let's let it play out. Particularly if you're going to St. Louis. As Cal says: Don't let anybody else steal your joy.

If we let crazzed tell us what might happen, he'd have the team dismantled, the coach ousted, the team losing every game, every player hurt, no recruits, the plague sweeping through the players' hotel, bed bugs chewing on Brad's face, NCAA sanctions hitting us, and every other darkness you can imagine.

They play the games for our enjoyment. Literally anything can happen with this team. Remember, we played most of the season without Vanderbilt.

Michael Porter is an elite talent, but I'm not sure why people are acting like he will be ready to just step in and dominate games in March. I'm sure he will be fine because he is that good, but he is not going to automatically make Mizzou title contenders.

                    Totally agree.

Feel like some folks think because a player is a top five recruit he'll go out and burn the world down. I expect Porter to have to battle and I don't think he'll automatically make Missouri better.

Definitely gives them another big body. But even Kyrie Irving couldn't fit seamlessly back in after that much time away. It's very difficult to play at this level after so many months off.

Absolutely. And what's to say he doesn't disrupt the team they already have. Look how long it took for Vanderbilt to fit in.

Good idea. I think they can handle Missouri, Georgia or Auburn without him. Not so sure about A&M, UT or Florida.
