Know coach Hall personally, fine fellow, also knew coach Smith, another fine man. Rick was a good coach but a lousy person even while at UK. I like Cal fine , knew him when I lived in Memphis and he coached there, talked to him at Donut-so several times. Liking him as a person doesn’t mean I like the direction he has taken our basketball program. As for Pitino I observed him at several SEC tourneys and particularly one year in Hawaii,

With the exception of a handful of their fans who are friends I thoroughly enjoy this. I grew up in Louisville, work in the city now although I live outside the city limits, and am surrounded by their fans. I have a degree from there and I worked in the Dean's office while in school. I hear about the 40-0 shirts in third world countries, Robert Morris, and Gardner Webb on a weekly basis. Outside of winning the title in 2012 I don't know if I have ever been this satisfied over sports.

Now, I have a personal relationship with Coach Crum. I haven't and won't talk to him about it. I know he still loves that University so I know he is terribly upset. Him, my cousin, and about four friends are the only people I legitimately feel bad for. But, you know it would much worse if it happened to us. I sincerely hope they get the death penalty.

Can someone answer this for me.?Why did they hang up the Championship banner in a bar and not in a strip club, did all of the strip clubs in Louisville go out of business??

They still have that little $100,000 payment to deal with. That wasn't part of this investigation.

That part is almost exactly how SMU got the death penalty. SMU continued with violations while on going investigations and even punishments for those infractions were handed out. If the NCAA has the gumption to serve out another death penalty this would be THE case to do it. They have precedent.

I hope they don't. It'd be bad for the state, economically speaking.

You people who don't revel in this are bigger men than me. I think it was Matt that said what goes around comes around and our time already hit back in the 80's with Emory. That was the biggest fiasco and Casey was innocent and won a lawsuit and all we heard was how bad we cheated.. So I'm sorry but I too hope UL gets the death penalty..If you cheat, you cheat and should get punished..How Carolina got off is beyond me and it is wrong. I hope the NCAA is disbanded and a whole new organization starts. I do not watch games anymore at all unless we are playing. Have lost just about all interest in college basketball.

Speaking for myself, not bigger, just different. I used to be just like you all, only my venom was directed at UT. I've mellowed a lot over the years.

This is terrible---not only for UL but makes a dark shadow on all college basketball---As much as I dislike UL & in particular Rick Pitino who will the NCAA turn their sights on next???? I say this even thinking UL & their w hole athletic department smell like limburger cheese!!!!!

I've mellowed a lot in the last few years. I have experienced some humbling moments that have shown how small of a section sports is on the list of important things in life. It gives me an escape now and not a way of life, so to speak. But, I get so sick of unrealistic sports fans from both sides and that is what I have found myself surrounded by quite often. The majority of Louisville fans I associate with genuinely dislike UK more than they like their own school. I don't know when or who Louisville plays next unless I see it in the paper or on an ESPN commercial. I don't know about their recruits, their assistants, or their boosters/celebrity fans, or even who they lost to in the tournament without really thinking about it. They are no different than a team like Oklahoma or Syracuse to me. I don't keep up with them and don't care to. I just happen to have lived, worked, and educated myself in their back yard. Ask them anything about UK and they know it like it was rehearsed. They have a weird obsession with UK and it kind of creeps me out.
