If and when a NBA team to Louisville happens I think it would be awesome. I think for sake of success of the franchise it should be named the Kentucky whatever, not the Louisville whatever. I'd love for them to go for a name related to Kentucky history. Also, team colors can't be blue or red, have to be something different than UK and UL's colors for sure.Comment

They started out Chartreuese green and white and after 1970 went with Red, White and Blue. The same color as the basketball.
I listened to Colonel games on WHAS anytime that station would be coming in loud and clear at night. They were my favorite pro basketball team. I never had another favorite after they were disbanded. Although I followed the NBA closely during the rest of the 70's, 80's and until the mid 90's I never had another favorite team and eventually lost nearly all interest in the pro game.
Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

Thanks for the reminder. Also, if I remember right, they started out playing their home games at The Armory downtown, which later became The Louisville Gardens.

I remember they called it the Convention Center downtown. Went to so many Colonel games there. Just loved that team.👍 1Comment
