Local Investors Revive Push for Louisville NBA Franchise

Pitino and Jurich pretty much squelched this for years. I would love to see it.

More than 20 local investors have contributed $750,000 in seed money to start the initiative.

It's a real shame that those two stood in the way for so long. If memory serves, there was an opportunity to bring the Pelicans to Louisville.

I would love to have a NBA team in Louisville. Who wouldn't want to see the best players in the world play? I would guarantee that any game involving the Pelicans visiting Louisville would be the toughest ticket in town to get.....

Man that really irks me thinking about it. The Pelicans now have Rondo, T. Jones, Liggins, D. Miller, Cousins and Davis. Not to say that roster would look like that today if the team was in Louisville but i guarantee any NBA team in Louisville would have ex Cards and Cats on it if possible....

And even though i am not a huge fan, i would like to see Lebron play in person. I would like to see Durant, Westbrook, Curry, Kyrie, and many others.

This was posted last night in my response to Lighthouse but since this is NBA talk, thought i would revisit it here. ESPN IS FAKE NEWS!!!!!!!!

I saw that but i think they are wrong. Did they include Rondo and Meeks? Davis, Cousins, Wall, Liggins, D. Miller, B. Knight, Ulis, Booker, Townes, Bledsoe, Patterson, T. Jones back in New Orleans, Noel, Wcs, Fox, Monk, Skal, Poythrees at Pacers, Dakari Johnson at OKC, Andrew Harrison at Memphis. Archie floats in and out, same with James Young and Aaron Harrison. Also, i forgot about Julius Randle..

Excuse my language, i call bs because i am actually forgetting some, i am watching this game...

              Trey Lyles lol lol
              Kanter in New York

Hayes, Prince, Nazr, Padgett, and Bogans retired the past few years lol lol

Espn the new Cnn, Fake News! !!

^ I didn't think they were right. As for the NBA Franchise, I doubt it happens because I really don't think Louisville and the surrounding area will support a team enough for it to be successful. Now if their roster was all UK, UL and IU players, it might be different.

The Pelicans (Hornets at the ttime) may have been brought up but I think the Grizzlies was the more serious consideration when the were leaving Canada weren't they?

Not sure. I only remember this conversation as it related to Cousins and Davis making their way back to Kentucky.

PLEASE bring an NBA franchise to Louisville. I would love to see the best in the world play as well as give me a new team to root for.

I'd like to see it too. But if it's up to me to support them coming to town they may be dissapointed. Might make 1 game per year in person.

I would most definitely buy a package of games.

I'm about 3.5-4 hours from Louisville, but I'd make the trip for a game here and there. Beats minor league hockey in Knoxville (though that's a lot of fun at times, too).

Do you ever go to Knoxville for any of their minor league baseball games, Downes?
