Cal just said the the poor shooting is due to a lack of confidence. I don't know but is it a lack of confidence when you miss a layup or a slam? I don't know.

The only thing at this point that is keeping me from jumping off the ship is that, aside from one or two exceptions, we've had a chance to win every game we've lost. We've won a couple that we easily could have lost, too.

They're in most of these games until the final minutes and they're competing -- I don't think effort is the issue.

The guy covering our best shooter is going to have any easy night since we don't have anyone who can shoot.

This game doesn’t matter. Four guys will go pro and we’ll witness another great day in the history of Kentucky basketball.

          Cats. I guess.

SGA is our offense. We run the EXACT same play every time. He controls the ball, waits for everyone to stand and watch him, then penetration and makes a tough shot. And he's pretty darn good at it. But that is not an offense. At least not one you can win with.

The very minute teams shut him down and keep him out of the lane, we lose by a bunch. That's the defense I would play against this bunch. Double team SGA. who else is going to score??

It is difficult for me to see HOW we make a late run, we simply don’t have enough players with legitimate basketball skills to generate one. Great athletes, don’t equate to great basketball players, especially with this club. Washington and Diallo are complete busts thus far. Green is not a bust but he isn’t an A list player either. Knox is immature and wildly inconsistent Alexander has been good but still has huge holes in his game. So how does this group make a run

I'm just about done, and sadly this team is too. Hard to say that, and Cal has turned it around in late February before....but I just don't see any sign of a 2011 or 2014 type turnaround this yr...

I'm not totally giving up, but this season is seriously teetering on the brink of being much closer to a 2013 type ending...

                    That's exactly what will happen.

They're on the radar, which is all it takes. Knox and SGA are gone, Diallo will make this year's Briscoe-esque decision, and by year's end Vanderbilt will accumulate enough intrigue to convince some team to take a gamble on him.

You're probably right. That would give us:

                      Green
                      Quickley
                      Herro
                      Johnson
                      Baker
                      Washington
                      Gabriel
                      SKJ
                      Richards

That team will be a heck of a lot better than this one.

Depends. We would need HUGE improvement from the returnees and our newbies would have to be better than this year's. Big IFS. We are still going to suffer from a recruiting whiff. But I would bet the farm we would be a better shooting team.

Also, if you add Brad, we would only have 10 players. Can't go the whole year with that. Cal would have to get another recruit or grad transfer or 2.

I can see that NIT sun rising in the east this morning. On the bright side of that would be that UK would get another home game, maybe three more if they keep winning in the NIT. Good for the Lexington economy. I actually hope UK opted out of the NIT before the season. But I'm afraid they didn't.
Cal made the worst coaching decision of his tenure at UK last night by not calling a timeout late in the game. You have to do that with a young team like this. Maybe a veteran team you let them play it out. Of course we don't ever ave to worry about having a veteran team at UK anymore.
No they aren't in the NIT yet but with another home loss and likely losses on the road then you are looking squarely in the face of Madison Square Garden. Oh well NYC can be lovely in the spring.
If these players are NBA draftable then I don't want to see what the NBA puts on their court now. I'm glad I don't watch that league anymore

Also did anyone get the feeling they were watching a grade school girls basketball game in the first 15 minutes last night? Gee.....that was about as bad it gets from both teams.

Yep. Lots of rumors of him ending up at Memphis now though.
