This team has regressed while many of the SEC has raised their games. That's on this coaching staff. I think Cal is treating them and coaching them like they are his normal superstars and they just are not that good. They cannot pass or shoot and like many Frosh, some are just lazy on defense. He may tell us he still likes this team, but I say he's full of it. I think he likes he kids but he knows they are just mediocre as a team. Too many missing pieces for his coaching style, imo.

When 3 or 4 of these guys leave, the fans won't take it very lightly, that's for sure. But there is not one single draftable player on this team. And the idea that we are even discussing it or worried about it defines what the real problem is.

Any NBA GM that would draft anybody on this team in the top 20 is smoking crack. As for Diallo ,that kid gives us nothing, just wasting space, never make an NBA squad

I don't mean he has bad BB IQ all the time, but he did on those last 2 plays. Not good decisions, and of course Cal not calling a TO to calm them down was an issue too.

2014 was an absolute fluke.

Maybe, but a lot of flukish things happen in March. It's the greatest and worst thing about the game.

I think Duke's title in '10 was a fluke. I've always thought the Carmelo title was a fluke. Still you hang a banner for those types of things.

If the rest of the team would actually move without the ball, cut, go back door, actually execute a pick and roll, or anything besides stand and watch I would agree. But, if Shai didn't attack our offense would literally be him standing at the top of the key dribbling for 23 seconds, a soft attempt at a post up on the elbow, then Diallo jacking up a rushed shot from well outside of his range. No one does anything without the ball.

But this is the way Cal's offense rolls a lot. He did this a lot with the Harrisons. One guy dribbling and driving, others watching. Who wants to run around for 20 seconds when you know Shai isn't passing the ball. Trust me, I like what Shai is doing and I agree that most of the other guys are just standing there but he dribbles around way too much. And Knox - well he's just flat out lazy and tried of watching him getting beat down the court. Green played well for the most part. Richards - did ok but damn that kid might as well play without shoes and try to use his feet to catch a ball. What terrible hands he has. Diallo - finally got sent to the bench, he's terrible. Wenyen - well, he is what he is.

Let's up Herro can shoot the lights out of it because this team needs a shooter badly.

a miracle run by a bad 2014 team doesn’t erase that for me.

It could be worse. Believe me - I dog this team and other teams/players in the past but it's not so doom and gloom like you and many others have tried to make it... It's been a really good run. Go back and look at the tournament since just 2010... UK has been in the final four more than anyone. Only Duke and UCONN won it twice. It's not easy to do and the best team doesn't always win the championship or even get there. This team should make the tournament unless they end up losing most of the last few games. There's a lot of teams with a lot of losses this season - not just UK.

I'm not pumping sunshine about anything. Never have, never will. The team is bad right now, and I'm not sure they have the players to turn it around in this particular SEC.

But unless you've missed college basketball this year, EVERYBODY is losing games. We'll be a tourney lock, if only because a lot of at-large teams will have resumes similar to ours.

If and when we end up in the NIT, you will hear me give up. Until then, I've learned to watch it play out. I don't expect us to do anything in March, but I've seen a couple of those "bad" Cal teams turn it around just in time.


And nothing changes the point that Cal's resume at Kentucky is better than ANY other coach's in the same time frame, unless you count Duke's two titles (one of those probably a "fluke" as you like to say), or Connecticut's two titles (and if you think Kevin Ollie is a better coach than Cal, then you can have him).
