This is a hurt for us fans, and probably the Coaches, but I wonder if it hurts the players. It does effect them, but is this as important as their draft status? I don't think so.

Many of these players don't have any draft stock. They're well aware of that. They aren't stupid.

I think what we're seeing is mostly a lack of talent plus a deluge of youth. The other night I actually didn't see much selfishness; I actually saw guys not making plays they could make. When you walk with the ball that much what you're seeing there is big-time indecision--that's borne out of most of these guys' inability to make certain plays in certain situations.

Diallo is the only guy on this team that I've seen some selfishness from. Otherwise I think what we're looking at is a team that's considerably poorer talent-wise than we've seen since 2013.

Knox is tremendously young. I'm willing to cut guys who come in here at 17 a little slack because I can't imagine having to play at this level at that age.

I see him loafing at times but I also see him pulling us out of tricky situations. Without him at South Carolina we get run.

^ I agree Knox is talented, but he lacks effort. Watch him off the ball, he is easy to guard because he doesn't hustle to get open, and on defense it's worse. He got a dumb foul in the Florida game where he stood flat-footed and grabbed the player as he went by. Loafing.

Simple question, should Kentucky’s Basketball team ever be ranked below 25. I say no it shouldn’t. I think it is reasonable to expect our team to be one of the top 25 teams in America. When we are not ,and our current lack of ranking is fair,we should ask what is the problem. I’m not sure many of our fans really are.

I think most fans are in that complicated state where they are both unhappy with the current team but can also see that the current team is a byproduct mostly of everybody leaving last year. And that includes seniors and a couple of non-freshmen who would've helped.

So it's kind of a perfect storm situation. A little different than in the late Tubby years where we didn't have such youth, didn't have any five-star recruits in the pipeline, didn't have really anything to hold out hope for. You would hope this is a stopgap to something better.

If last year's team didn't win 30+ games you'd probably see more exasperation from the fanbase, but I think most fans can understand that we're not in a long-term holding pattern of mediocrity. This seems to be something that can and should pass, but it's going to take some guys returning.

This is actually great for the players, stock will drop like the great depression and they may actually get picked up by a late round playoff team so they can sit on the bench and watch a real team play and learn what it takes to be successfull in the NBA...

Does anyone think that maybe we are just not that talented?

We may stay unrated the rest of the season. And at this point I don' care. Just make the tourney.

I think there's talent, but this is your prototypical team with pretty high highs (Louisville, Tennessee first half, that stretch early in the Florida game) and very low lows.

"Not that talented" suggests that you've got a player who just doesn't have the requisite tools. I would put somebody like Sheray Thomas in that group. Probably Woo and those guys. Players who come in as freshmen and look pretty much the same when they leave as 22-year-olds.

This is a different thing. I think what you see with this team is more about inconsistency. They use those tools sometimes; other times they try to defer to others, but there's nobody else to defer to on this team because the other guys are just like them.
