      Here's your answer:

      UNC 4 times

      Duke 1 time

      Arizona 6 times

      Kansas zero times

      Kentucky 6 times

So I guess its time to fire Cal. We can only measure up to Arizona. For Kentucky four of those times came at the end of the Tubby era and the great BCG era.

Arizona may've been out of the top 25 at the end of 2011 and 2012. They were close.

In 2010 North Carolina went to the NIT. They've had a pretty solid run in the seven years since.

Duke and Kansas I'm sure haven't finished out of the top 25...but both have some mystifying NCAA Tournament losses that Kentucky doesn't have.

In one of the two years before this one that Kentucky fell out of the top 25, they played for the national championship. In the other year their best player tore up his knee.

I don't think there's that much to that stat as long as you can put together a tournament run, but I'm not sure this team can. If not then you have to hope this is a rebuilding year.

I think he was talking about finishing the season out of the top 25, not just falling out.

This is the last poll of the season that is linked. It's total appearances in the final AP poll. I looked at the last 20 years for the figures I gave.

Using Kevin's link, during the Cal era Arizona has been out of the top 25 at the end of the season twice; North Carolina once; Duke and Kansas haven't been (though Duke was 19th at the end of 2016).

If Cal stays and if Kentucky comes back next year and loses 10 games, you'll see a lot more JLoads around message boards.

There will be Cal Haters and Cal Apologists. There will be Truthers and Realists. Everybody will be on a team like they were throughout the early 2000s.

All I can say if you aren't pleased, overall, with Cal's winning at UK then you will probably never be pleased with anyone.
