Apparently Vanderbilt’s uniform made it to Vandy. So there’s that.

I'm thinking if we're very shorthanded Vanderbilt has told Cal he's gotta play him. I'd like to think he's there for the team if fully ready rather than waiting just to debut to a home applause.

But if Quade and Winyard are back we're still waiting. And if he plays it'll just be buying a few minutes to rest others.

Sorry to be judgemental but I'm dissapointed. We were shorthanded and could have used him and Cal said he did NOT say "put me in coach."

Great question. And he needs to be careful how he answers.

If a player isn't interested in playing he needs to be tossed from the team, IMO. He's getting a free education, access to some of the best training staff and facilities, and has probably the best dorm rooms on campus. There's other guys out there who could help the team more than zero.

It's obvious he doesn' want to play or is afraid of the backlash from his "people" if he does.

This thing with Vanderbilt and Cal’s half answers is getting really strange. Definitely seems like there is something else going on here.

Could be that Cal said "JV's not playing till we come back home." So JV figured he wasn't playing till they come back home. Now he realizes Cal wanted him to say "hey coach...I wanna play." But if he wanted to play very bad he probably would have said so anyway.

I bet they talk now and JV plays next game."Players First" is a cool recruiting slogan. I wish putting the best possible team on the floor were a small part of it though.

I read Cal's comments on KSR. Sounded like a not so subtle ultimatum to either start playing or he will be left alone. Cal has been pretty adament that Vanderbilt would start back when UK is home. So my guess is that if isn't playing by the Florida game,UK's next home game, we won't see him ever play at UK because Cal would have basically gave up on him. I'm sure this kid is being pulled in million different directions by many different people. It's one of those things you have to deal with when you have high maintenance superstar prima donna players.

It appears his people are recommending he practice but not play. Ridiculous to me though with his history of multiple foot injuries. How long has it been since he played a full season? Seems to me the only way he could get drafted in the first round is to get on the court and not just show he has some skills but show he's healthy and can hold up. I do not think he's such a transcendent talent that he can hide and go in the lottery.

I think he plays the next game. But he'll need a while to get up to speed.
