We won't miss Malik's dunks nearly as much now. I hope Diallo will bring a lot more than dunks but holy cow he can throw it down with the best of 'em. Will likely bring me off the couch numerous times.

How good can a shooting guard who can't shoot really be?

Watching videos of Diallo, he has a good looking shot and I believe with some work he can become a decent shooter.

          I feel the same.

It's also true that a lot of these athletic guys often get branded unfairly as bad shooters, and they really aren't.

Malik Monk was supposed to be a poor three-point shooter and we saw how that turned out.

Now if Hami Diallo replicates Monk's three point percentage I'll eat justford's hat, but I do think he might be better than advertised. If he isn't, you would hope his ungodly athleticism and wingspan can get the poor shooting back in other areas: defense, rebounding from the guard spot, transition scoring, etc.

I love the potential in all his strengths, can't wait to see him cram on hapless opponents, but this is where I think he'll be of the most help to the team. His measurements suggest he has the potential to be an ungodly perimeter defender.

Worst-case scenario he's Archie Goodwin, who was also very long and very athletic.

I would hope though that Diallo, being older than Goodwin with a half-year in the system already, won't be that sort of wild, undisciplined player. But I do think we'll see the guy throwing up some bricks.

And on another topic: Kevin Knox is way more athletic than I thought. Some of his mixtapes are of the caliber of these super-talented, game-changing players we've seen under Cal (Wall, Monk, Fox, Murray, Davis, Towns, etc.).

To say this would displease me to no end would be quite the understatement.

Diallo is going to be on a better team too.

Archie was undisciplined and selfish but after Noel got hurt a lot fell to him.

There are going to be more options on this team than Diallo having to go 1 on 4 on the fast break.

Speaking of options, is Vanderbilt gonna, you know, be one?

Why have we still not heard an injury report?

                      Probably wasn't a serious injury.

If shooting is Diallo's weakness, Kentucky is the place to improve that part of his game. When WCS and Trey Lyles were coming off injuries early and the team was in the Bahamas, I watched Coach Payne put them through one of the toughest shooting drills I have ever seen. It was exhausting and while it didn't help WCS much, it sure did Lyles. I expect Mr Diallo has a few of those in his future.

Because there will be virtually no experience returning and because most of these guys will be interchangeable, I think there'll be way more mixing and matching through the first two months than we've seen as he tries to figure out what he has.
I agree with all your takes on next year's team except Alexander. He shot up the rankings and is being called maybe the steal of the class. Had a great DF game, and has shown a very versatile game. At 6-6 200 lbs, he is maturing nicely and I think will back up at the 1 and 2 mostly and some at the 3... I would expect him to be a nice surprise and play around 20-25 mins a game....

If Alexander is playing 25 minutes a game then that means some other guys are sitting a lot, and I just don't think that happens. Except on the platoon team Cal has always had guys he just couldn't really remove from the game for very long, and I think Diallo and Knox are going to be those types. He also tends to use his freshman point guards a lot even through struggle (see Teague, Marquis and Harrison, Andrew), and Green is going to get that treatment so he can hopefully be a game-changing player by March.

Would be great if Alexander could play maybe a Dom Hawkins role on next year's team. Hawkins averaged 19 minutes a game but was playing more like 15 before he became a beast in the last month.

                              I hope it's that simple.

Here is a article that said the Nets were going to draft Diallo with one of their first round pics but he decided to come back to UK. So in other words, we have a first round pick coming back.
According to a report, the hometown Brooklyn Nets were poised to select Hamidou Diallo with one of their first round picks.
