Good reviews from the people who got a sneak preview the other night. Sounds like a good, balanced show. Jonathan Hock did it. He seems like a good producer of these shows that have been a part of this 30 for 30 series. I have my DVR set. I will have to watch it later since its on late.

Here's Jonathan Hock's IMDB profile. I have seen his other three he did for ESPN. All are very good. The Best that Never Was is one of the best, maybe the best ,I have seen in the 30 for 30 series.

Known for: 30 for 30, Through the Fire, The Lost Son of Havana

"The Best That Never Was" is incredible.

I still think my favorite is "Once Brothers."

The best may be The Two Escobars. Really, brilliantly done. I didn't think I would like that one since it was mainly about soccer but I couldn't have been more wrong. Once Brothers is very good too. I liked that one a lot.

85 Bears and Survive and Advance on the 83 NC State team are two amazing ones.

I'm partial to "Benji" and the Ricky Williams doc.

Marcus Dupree is probably one of my 10 favorite football players ever because of this documentary lol.

Cal's 30 for 30 was great. As if Cal needed any more advantage on the recruiting scene...

My favorite part was his berating of the officials lol (sorry lighthouse)

Dejuan Wagner was the thing that made Cal who he is now.

It was really good. A lot of stuff we knew, some that was new to me.

The whole one-and-done discussion is interesting, particularly the DaJuan Wagner angle.

But the most obvious thing, the thing that jumps off the screen in every scene, is how much love Cal's players have for him. You can blast Call all you want. Berate him for the one-and-done thing. Say he's killing the college game. Whatever. But you could never say the man doesn't genuinely love those players.

I noticed this too. I mean, Marcus Camby put a black eye on UMass and Cal's reputation, and he still loves the guy.

Cal's players are fiercely loyal to him, and that's incredible.

Loved it!! Look at the severe penalties handed out to UMass even though Camby said no one else was involved. Compare what happened at UMass vs what has happened at UL and UNC and see what if anything happens to UL and UNC.
Don't even get me started on how unfair the Memphis and Rose situation were.

Unguardable was the best one I have seen. It's about basketball star Chris Herron and his heroin addiction.
The new 30 for 30 coming out in June is a two part series about the Celtics and Lakers rivalry in the 80's. I absolutely can't wait for that one. I was a HUGE Celtics fan during that era but I didn't hate the Lakers. How could anyone hate Magic Johnson? I couldn't stand Kareem, but I liked all the other Lakers guys. But my man was Larry Bird. He is still my favorite player to this day. The NBA, IMO, will never be as good again as it was during that time.
