Is this an article, or just your opinion? If it's an article, please provide a link. I'd like to read it.

Just basing it off the Porter kid going there and bringing in a couple other studs who will want to play with him, plus they return 2 decent scorers. Will be top 20 easy, maybe top 10. Porter is that good.

Not sure I buy 2nd overall. Even if they land Michael Porter, Jr. (and it looks like they will - WU granted his release earlier today) he's still going to need a supporting cast.

We'll obviously be strong, Alabama's trending up in a pretty big way, A&M has a returning lottery pick, Florida's more or less where they left off after Donovan's departure - as in football (though with reduced significance) there are a lot of teams who will probably rough each other up and muddy the standings throughout the season. Outside of the top, I think it's going to be tough to predict.

Wonder what folks would say if Cal had hired Porter's dad to get Porter to come to the school?

            No way.

Who are these "studs" he's going to reel in? His brother, maybe, but who else? Most of the "studs" are committed at this point, and the ones who haven't definitely aren't looking at Missouri.

You know Martin from ESTL is talking hard to get Tillmon to switch to Mizzou.

UK fans would have been all for it, I'd say. Everyone else, not so much.

Mark Smith would be a great late get....

Washington gave Porter release the other day, he's probaby going especially since the family is from Mizz (they just moved to Seattle last year Porter Sr. U Dubb Assistant, now Mizz Asst). What's going to be interesting is seeing who Porter Jr convinces to go over there with him...

Maybe. Still don't think they jump to second overall. Martin's Bears were 5th in the Pac 12 this year, and that was with some talent on the team.

Yeah, Cuonzo has never been known to be a great coach. You don't change a program around like Mizzou overnight. It's gonna take a couple of seasons of great recruiting and great coaching to even be considered Top 25 material, much less Top 10.

Martin isn't that good of a coach. He's OK but nothing special. He had some talent at Cal and didn't do a lot with it. They had enough talent this year to be an NCAA team but didn't make it. Sounds like very Johnny Jones like to me. Just getting good talent isn't enough. Jones and Romar proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. We'll see how he does at Mizzou but I doubt he makes them into any sort of power and probably only marginally better.

^True. Will Martin prove to be able to win with freshman like Calipari or will it look more like LSU with Simmons and Blakeney? Not everyone can pull that off. Think I'd take UK and Florida over them next year.
