    2017 Coaching Carousel

I really hope Mizzou can get a coach that will get that program rolling again.

A lot of talk about Lorenzo from Washington because of a lot of ties with Columbia, and the whole Michael Porter Jr. connection. Should be interesting how that plays out.

Going by things I have read and heard he was a good fit at Mizzou despite the record. However, I can't blame them for moving on. Mizzou has a decent basketball following and their fans deserve more than what they have been getting.

Frank Haith left them with a little bit of a mess and I agree, there is no reason that Mizzou is a bottom of the barrel SEC team.

Why in the world would anybody want Lorenzo Romar? Even if they got Michael Porter for one year out of the deal, they'd still be stuck with that hack.

Been hearing the name Tom Crean floated about. Seems about right. Middle-of-the-road coach for a middle-of-the-road program.

Missouri is a pretty good job as far as middle-tier power conference jobs go. Arguably the fourth best job in the SEC behind Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas. They have a history with Norm Stewart and a solid recent run with Mike Anderson. (Quinn Snyder was ultimately a failed coach, but he did take them to six NCAA Tournaments.)

I would make a run at somebody like Tommy Amaker.

Last night I was seeing Tom Crean as their top choice. Given that he may be on the outs at IU, that could be a good landing spot for him.

I don't disagree with you about Romar.

It seems like epochs ago that people were mentioning Romar as a possible replacement for Tubby Smith.

Could be. He's used all his excuses and reasons for losses at IU. He can use them all again at Mizzou.

It would be very SEC like for Mizzou to hire Romar. Go for someone who can land a top recruit but can't coach a lick.

I don't remember that. That wasn't ever a discussion at the UK sites I frequented. But, it would have certainly been an improvement.

Lorenzo Romar would've been an improvement at Kentucky over Tubby Smith?

                          I miss crazzed.

Absolutely. But so would have been a cardboard cut out of Dick Fick. I can't believe there are still UK fans that support the loser that is tubby smith. They just got drilled in the last regular season game. 26 seasons as a head coach, 18 of those he lost 10 games or more.

He hasn't had a winning record in any conference since he left UK. They are already talking about firing him in Memphis.

So yes, Romar would have been an improvement. That's not high raise for Romar.
