One thing to remember about Killeya-Jones is his youth. IIRC he's either the youngest or one of the youngest players in the country.

Some are talking about him as a possible member of the U-19 team Cal's coaching.

This is once again a prime example of why not all kids are cut out for Kentucky and Cal and he is blunt and upfront about it. If you don't perform you aren't going to play, that's all there is to it. I agree his body language on the bench for the last month or so has been awful and that bothers me. It is also a sign that he is miserable and does not care about the teams success and only his own. But like was mentioned earlier the only one that can change that is him, anyone that comes here thinking their 5 star ranking is going to get them PT is crazy and unfortunately it is probably going to be a reoccurring theme every couple years that a kid will transfer to get more PT.

I really hope he stays because he has the gifts to be special, just has to let it happen and trust the system. I could really see him being a contributor in 2-3 years if he keeps hitting the gym and working his tail off. We shall see soon enough what he is made of and if he takes on the challenge or quits.

Awfully harsh - and presumptive - take.

Not sure how anyone but SKJ can know how he feels about the team's success. I sure can't say for certain that he doesn't care simply because he looks a little pouty on the bench.

I know, I know....but when I see everyone on the bench cheering and clapping after a great play and he is sitting there looking pissed off at the world it's hard for me to not take that the worst way possible.

Trust me, I hope I am wrong, kid has potential and I hope Cal is preaching to him that hard work will get him where he needs to me and to not get frustrated about minutes.

If it isn't practice, what could it be? Grade issues perhaps?

Just curious, when was the last time we had a five star that was a Jr.?

                Last year. Poythress.

Good point, but Poythress sat out a year with an injury.

WCS was a 4 star, but he wasn't far from being a 5.

But Poythress would be the only one, there were a lot of 5 stars from that class that didn't pan out.

Marcus Lee was also on last year's team as a junior. He was a five-star rated 19th overall by Rivals.

But there are FIVE STARS and then there are five stars. There are a lot of guys who get some shine simply because they choose Kentucky. They aren't like these other guys who are can't-miss prospects and have been since they were 15 years old.

Killeya-Jones isn't in that group. I didn't think he was going to play for this team when I saw him in high school. He's a five-star player, but that ranking has way more to do with his upside than anything he is now. Like the other poster said, he's the perfect candidate to bide his time like WCS did and not rush out of here. Could be a star with his skillset.

I agree! That was my observation too (thought it was just me)...and have y'all noticed it looks like he is thinner?

Anyone think he's gonna pull a Mathews and transfer end of the season? I read Mathew's article and I appreciated his honesty although Cal has said publicly plenty of times: UK is not for everybody, everyone doesn't necessarily cut-it here.

There ya go. Some SKJ news.
It's safe to say Sacha Killeya-Jones has been an enormous disappointment in his freshman season, especially considering the preseason hype and the fact he has

He is skilled and has great size. He originally committed to Va and backed out..I for one am glad we have him. Hope he stays and starts next year.

I read what was quoted he said but his body language on the bench doesn't match up with someone willing to wait while he puts in the practice work.

I suppose to believe Wynyard has now surpassed SKJ?....Really?!
