I was disappointed in the Hump. I expected more from him, especially since we weren't getting Kansas' best inside.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

As previously discussed, Lee never showed anything in his three years that would suggest he'd make a big difference on this team.
His career block average at UK sits right at an even one per game at a little under 14 minutes per. In his last season that was up to 1.6 blocks @ almost 22 minutes. Those were starters' minutes, too, and given his lack of any other ability outside of jumping high, it's fair to say that on this team he'd be mired in a regular rotation with Willis and Gabriel, which would cut into those 22 minutes and suggests that he might not have even matched those last season averages.
Not exactly the reputation of a rim protector.Last edited by George; 01-29-2017, 03:19 PM.Comment

You're just quoting (plagiarizing) a Matt Jones tweet from last night.

This may seem like an odd response, but you're being too rational and logical in your response. Just having him out there with the size and the ability to block shots would have certainly made a difference on this team. With his experience of being on team's that certainly understood better defensive principles, I don't doubt he could have helped them and probably changed the course of some of these games that the Cats have lost. Had he remained a Cat, it's likely he would have ended up Top 8 in blocked shots at the program. So yes, he would have made a difference.
Just having Lee out there would have made a difference? I don't see how, seeing as last year's team was a worse defensive team than this one.
And as far as finishing in the top eight all-time in blocks, that's not rarefied air. He would have maybe passed Jules Camara and Perry Stevenson.
He would have just held back Willis and the development of Wenyen Gabriel. What we need as much as a shot-blocker is an MKG sort: a guy who can stem the advance of the ball toward the basket. Marcus Lee would not have been able to erase all of De'Aaron Fox's defensive mistakes. I'm not sure that guy exists.Comment

Let's get over Lee, he's not walking through the door and Hump is here. At least he can hit a shot once in awhile. If we recall, Hump hit some 10-15 ft jumpers last year and I don't remember him shooting one this year. Evidently that's not his role this year.John 3:3
