No defense, no clue how to attack zone, careless turnovers and horrible free throw shooting is an L every time.

I think effort is usually ok with this team. It's poor ball movement. Not protecting the ball - sloppy passes. Lot's a standing around on offense which is typical of Cal's half-court offense. Can't play man to man defense - constant switching and getting beat. Needs to learn to play zone with this group. This team misses Marcus Lee. Never thought I would say that but it's a simple fact. He's another big man that would block shots and would keep Humphreys and Willis off the court more. Tonight - Willis played pretty well but had a few defensive breakdowns as usual.
Depending on match ups - I think they'll only go to maybe 2nd or 3rd round tops in the tournament.Comment

UGA is in the gym right now practicing a zone. For us, how can we practice how to attack a zone when we don't know how to play one?John 3:3

I can't see Briscoe being drafted. I don't see an upside due to his size and he can't shoot the ball.Yes he grabs rebounds but does not offer much else. He will probably try to go but I would bet he doesn't get much interest.Comment

My first time on here this season. I hope everyone has been doing good.
We lost this game because we panicked, which comes with lack of experience. Fox is clearly not back to being %100 yet. All year long he's been getting by whoever has been guarding him, but tonight he just couldn't. It made the zone that much more effective. Briscoe has been struggling, and Bam needs a lot of improvement.
Cal better teach them how to play in the half court or we'll get eliminated early come march.
I don't know how this team has been defensively by the numbers, but up to now it hasn't looked good at all.Last edited by BBNalldayeveryday; 01-28-2017, 07:41 PM.Comment
