Grayson Allen, Again

This time he may have--or may not have!--shoved a Florida St. assistant.

I watched the last five minutes of this game last night and couldn't figure out why Allen wasn't playing. Not sure if he was benched for this or for something else, but we've almost reached Peak Grayson Allen at this point. Never know what the guy is going to do.

At this point you cannot give him the benefit of a doubt. He's like someone who committed prior felonies. If you see him around a scene of a crime you have to assume he did it.

Probably until Duke does something about it.

Most of the commentary is not so much about Allen but rather about this idea that Duke "does things the right way." If you've got Dicky V. up there on television for 25 years talking about the spotlessness of Coach K and the Duke program, a player like Allen is great fodder because he flies in the face of that illusion.

This one is a lot more definitive than the issue the other night. You can clearly see him shove the guy. Agree with Spiritof96, I'd love to see someone send in a goon with the intention of tearing him up.

He clearly pushes the coach....I guess Coach K made a phone call to a friend to get this guy to make this statement.

I really hope it gets crazy at Louisville this weekend and he goes bonkers.

On one hand he's right. Allen is starting to be over-analyzed about everything. Part of that's just the nature of fandom in the Twitter age, but most as I said is about Duke generally more than Allen himself.

On the other hand, a lot of guys in sports don't get breaks even when they do things a lot more tame than Allen has done.

Duke is a solid mess right now. They are not going to beat UL at YUM.

Allen is just being himself. And all this falls squarely on K. When you are not paying the consequences for your misdeeds, then guys like this will always test how far they can go. The program and coach is fostering this behavior. At some point, they need to be called out for the blame.

Where's John Chaney when you need him? He always kept a goon on his team for just this reason.

I don't why that coach wrote what he did. Allen doesn't deserve anything at this point. He should just stayed quiet and left Allen hanging in the wind like a pinata.
