It is definitely no myth that Pitino can prepare. He can. He may not be able to follow through for one reason or another, but he definitely can prepare a team for battle. I think the guy is as scummy as they come but he is a great coach.

I would take a 1 point win any day in that den of iniquity.

But what do I know since I am am a Duke and UL fan.

I heard Cal once say at a clinic that Pitino was so prepared that in that UMASS/UK in the '96-'96 season, Cal actually planted a rumor in the media that they might play zone. He did this because he knew Pitino was a madman as far as getting his teams ready and he would think Cal really was going to play zone.

      They didn't, of course.

You can say a lot of things about Pitino, but that he doesn't get his teams ready to play isn't one of them. He'll have a gameplan. The problem is that talent on the floor usually trumps a solid gameplan...and Cal is a better coach than people give him credit for. He'll have a plan too.
Of course Cal has a plan. This ain't his 1st rodeo at the bucket. Being positive, the youngin's settle down and enjoy the challenge of playing in the bucket

Petino can prepare, he will have a plan and UL's defense is legit. But they can't guard what they can't catch. UL has some depth and you can bet fouls will be at a premium and RP will be preaching at the officials. We will have some bruises after this one, and if we hit our FT's we will win.

I'll grant that. He does prepare. He over prepares if anything. I didn't mean that the way it came out. I meant that preparation isn't working for him against UK. Even tubby owned Pitino head to head at UK.

The myth I was referring to was being scared of Pitino because of his preparation H.

In the words of the immortal Mike Tyson, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Still, I've had a funny feeling about this game. The overconfidence of the UL football team and this being the first true road game have me spooked.

Their interior size will take away Briscoe scoring in the paint much like the UCLA and UNC game. We have to play our game which is run and have fun. A half court game favors them.

I wasn't concerned with the football game. My wish was that no one got hurt. THIS is a whole nother story. Pitino will remind them about the FB game and about how this is their 1st hostile away game and to take advantage of it. But I expect Cal to let them know what they are up against. Never know with this game.

I'm a little confused (y'all have to bare with me because you know I don't live in the state so I need to be educated) don't y'all think it will be a 50/50 representation of fans at the Yum? BBN travels across states flying and driving so a little road trip up the street is nothing for BBN, right?!!!

We do have to hit the boards need a lot of fast break/transition points Loui can't keep up with us (not consistently).

And now lets see what the "preason voters" have to say about Mathiang...that's the player that was voted SEC player of the year right?! Thats why they call it pre-season he can have two seats...unless Monk does an about face, he's snatching that from Mathiang.

Kentucky fans travel to neutral games. This is a home game on another team's court. UofL controls the tickets and they sell out. The only way Kentucky fans can get in is to find a way to get ahold of scalper's stock.

I've been to a few UK/UofL games in Rupp and there are quite a few UofL fans there, but not enough to make much of a difference. Kentucky fans will get in but this is definitely a true road game in every sense of the word.

The line has apparently moved and now Kentucky is favored by 1.

DANG! Thanks for explaining...the struggle is real. So let me get this correct: To get tickets to this game period is hard, second whent tickets went on sale they limit the amount to UK fans (and vice versa when the rivarly game is at Rupp)? Am I understanding this correctly?
