Kameron Olds is the latest commitment. A 6'4 240 pound edge rusher coming from Kent State. He had six sacks and 29 pressures last season.

I think it’s pleasantly surprising with the caliber of player we’re getting from the portal. Maybe we even come out a net positive again in the off-season. Surprising because of the product on the field last year.

However—may well be like a typical national signing day. We may improve our team from last year—but less so than 14 other SEC schools. Especially with the same coaching staff—it may not mean any additional wins.

Agreed. If we are all being honest, Stoops has really only had one "bad" year, and it was this one. Has he had a few years that we as fans expected more? Sure. But, those years were still seven wins and a bowl game. The big picture of the Kentucky football program is still decent enough to attract players who want to play against the best competition to try and improve their stock. It works out for us in the sense that these kids in the portal only have one year to do so and they need to go somewhere they'll play now. A program that goes bowling as consistently as UK does will attract some of them.

That'll always be the issue unless we have a major increase in NIL. Some people act like Mitch is holding the reigns on NIL but I have no idea if that's true. I've often wondered if Stoops having his own bourbon hurts us because those in the industry with the money don't want to support a competitor. It seems as though each year there are teams that show they can compete with less. We used to, and now we get to see if we can do it again.

I look at things differently than some fans. If we go 8-4 or 7-5 I'm happy but not necessarily satisfied. If I look back over the season and see where we lost a game or two that we probably should have won because of stupid penalties, coaching gaffes or the team not being mentally or emotionally into the game, I consider that to be a bad season.

Absolutely! And we've had to many of those games.

Very fair. The initial Stoops teams were hard nosed, tough, and disciplined. We've definitely gotten away from that the last few years.
