Impact on recruiting will be affected more by relationship with recruiting coach and player development results than by win-loss at this point. Hoping this coaching staff can advance this area of development which has been inconsistent in the past and at times been elusive. In time, next year or after, W-L will be more important. The possibility to challenge for playing time must always be on the table for skill position recruits. As the depth fills in, a more realistic expectation of red-shirting by most recruits will be anticipated. Also, it doesn't hurt to have players involved in games on Sundays after graduating (leaving). Agree that these are kids and emotions can change with the wind, however, recruiting has definitely been this staffs strong point.

I think there's some decent speculation on whom we will sign yet on a 247 thread about who fills the last 2015 spots.

If we lose coach Brown, that may have a bigger impact on recruiting than the team's on field performance.

Very true. We need CB to stay put and finish putting together our new CATS!

Good point. But... I have a hard time seeing CNB moving on when he hasn't come close to completing the job he signed on for here. I'd think he'd want that accomplishment on his resume in order to maximize his future attractiveness.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid he's already agreed to take the job.

Mainly just from things I've read, like the fact that neither he nor coach Stoops has said anything to put a stop to the speculation. It would seem, to me, all this would be a distraction, that isn't needed, leading up to the game with U of L.

If he goes then he goes. I was very high on Brown in the beginning, but he got away from what was working and play calling severly hurt this team in the last 5 games. Not saying I want him gone, but I think we will find a replacement who will not cause us to lose a step. We could bring in someone with SEC experience and ties to a Florida, Texas, or Bama and possibly boost our recruiting.

I've read things too and I agree with you. but the part in bold might be the reason they haven't said anything.

I meant a distraction for the Cats.

from what I read today, it's done. I wish coach Brown nothing but the best. I really don't know if there was a situation where Coach Stoops 'held him back' on play calling to try to keep the defense safe or not....but there were certainly some head scratching play calls in games I thought we had more of a chance to win. Including today.
Ah well....Lane Kiffen has likely worn out his welcome with Coach Saban. (that's a joke)

Quinton Baker de-committed last night. Damian Harris was also present for the Alabama win.

The loss of Q Baker is not a big deal

There will be some decommits, but the new OC will bring in some too. After watching the iron bowl last night, I wish for a 6'3" 235lb RB with speed!
