We need a qb... I don't love the wildcat on 1st down.

How does Tennessee keep doing this? Brother Vol must be having a heart attack.

WoW, UT should change their mascot to a CAT this year. They have 9 lives at least.

They used up all their lives. They lost to A&M 45-38 in two overtimes.

Very proud of this win. First time Stoops has beaten Vandy. We can pooh pooh it's only Vandy all night, but Mason has a fine defense....and UK ran for 250 or close to it against them.
going to be intriguing IF Barker is able to return. The O line has actually been looking SEC quality, and I am extremely pleased that the defense has manned up.
I still feel a bowl bid is an extremely long shot. I wish this is the play we had seen last season. Very happy with the effort though.

I wonder how much the wind affected Johnson's passing? It never looks like he has a lot of zip on the ball.

This is the 2nd time I've seen this and I've actually had it mentioned to me at work. Not the first time we've beat Vandy under Stoops. Stoops very first SEC win came against Vandy lol.

Johnson's biggest problem is he has a tendency to throw off his back foot. There aren't too many QB's, I've seen, that have the arm strength to get away with this.

As an aside, I saw on Twitter, this morning, that coach Stoops is very upset with some of the fan base for criticizing some of the players. I don't know what led up to this. Watching, on tv, I didn't notice any booing directed at the players. He could be referring to media outlets such as Twitter and message boards, or there may have been some booing of Johnson that I'm not aware of.

In a way Stoops criticized his own player by running the wildcat at the end of the game and taking the ball out of his hands. No D1 quarterback should be that unreliable.

You have to give Stoops credit for this defense.

That's a different unit than the one we saw in the first two weeks. Just night and day really. Major kudos to the head coach for that.

And this team as a whole has undoubtedly gotten better. The offensive line seems to be playing better than it has in many years at Kentucky. And for as shaky as Johnson is, I swear he's made the team better because he's helped it find its identity.

For me Stoops gets a ton of credit for that...but on the other hand, with every win I can't help but think, "If we could have just beaten Southern Miss..."

QB didnt fumble this game, but he had the worst passing game I have seen any UK QB have in a long time. It's a good thing that he is mobile. Maybe if he rolled out of the pocket more he could give the receivers time to be wide open, because he just isn't accurate at all right now. It is not arm strength. He just throws behing, too low, too high, to out in front, short and whatever else he can do except give the receivers a chance to make a play. There were a handful of plays where he just needed to throw where the receivers were going to be, instead of throwing where they already are. The could have been huge gains or touch downs.

Kentucky had luck on their side, with the Vandy receiver dropping a perfect pass in the end zone. The Vandy QB has talent and could be a star, net season.

Typical game between two bad teams. Sloppy plays and plenty of turnovers. In the end it was a win and one more toward magical number of 6. QB play is pretty horrid. If that doesn't improve much more UK may not get another win other than Austin Peay. Miss State is next on Oct 22. They aren't very good at all so UK has a shot in this one. Another must win game if they want to go bowling.
                              Kentucky fan since 1971.
