I think the rumor thread about Stoops getting canned needs to be opened back up. It's all over other forums now. There's whispers about an affair and UK maybe using that to nix the buyout. There was also allegedly a couple of players that made some cryptic tweets that were very quickly deleted. There seems to be some legit smoke to this.

Thanks for the post; I was considering a similar post. I patrol this board, the 247 site, and the Rivals board. About a week or so ago, a poster on 247 made a fleeting mention of Stoops going through personal problems, etc. I didn't think too much about it at the time.
Close to the same time as Friend of Coal's post on this site, the Rivals Wildcat Lair started simmering with some suggestions about Stoops and some off the field issues. Posts and threads were getting deleted, and the board was locked down pretty tight by the mods.
It is now on UL & UT fan boards. The mods on the Rivsls board are no longer deleting posts about the topic(s) concerning Stoops. There's a tremendous amount of smoke around the situation, and sadly I'm starting to think there may be some truth about what's going on. At this point, it's either an elaborate, well-orchestrated smear job against Stoops, or it's true.
Hopefully the mods on this board will allow for this to be discussed and not shut down, deleted.
The whole situation is making my head spin, there's no telling how the team is going to respond tonight. Stay tuned.....

Im not saying its right if he did cheat, but I dont see what his personal life has to do with his work. Why not just keep Stoops until the end of the season then get rid of him. Since hes already doing so poorly now, what would it hurt for him to stay until the end of the season?Comment

I get that, but if nothing was happening during work hours, then no such law suit could happen. How many people all over end up having an affair or being with a co worker and then end up having to deal with a sexual harassment suit. That assistant would have to prove he took advantage of her by saying do it or be fired etc. Then you have to look at this from this way even if he is fired that assistant still could come forward with the charges, and the school would still have to settle on it too, if he did use his powers.Comment

The problem is the appearance and opening the University to a world of maybe they did maybe they didn't across the board. No major corporation...or state employer...openly allows fraternization between a supervisor and a subordinate. IF this the case, there is a possibility of violating both University as well as state employee rules. As in the case of Bobby Petrino, it can lead to an ocean of allegations of unfair work practices other than harassment charges
And yes, there is much chatter. Mods on other boards I visit have been sweating bullets deleting random threads.
And also yes, I certainly hope this is NOT true. But in all honesty, I have no earthly idea why any group would go to a smear campaign against this coach, unless it were some of the psycho fan faction trying in a sick way to force a change.Comment

If its true, and it happened outside of work and in no way effected their jobs, then its a simple open and shut case. Then you look from the other side of outside of work they are just friends. If something happened while they was at work in the building doing something then yeah it would include the University outside the doors they cant tell their workers who they can or cant be with. If this is just a smear campaign its for the reason of trying to get him out and using that as a reason, cause you look all over and you see threads of fire Stoops, hes a bad coach, etc...Comment
