If Eliot is not gone after this game, then Stoops needs to go. Stoops needs to go period but it is what it is. This is pitiful. PITIFUL.

Get ready for a coaching shakeup after the season. That is, if Mitch has the stones.

          Two things:

1st: I'm not convinced that UK can be made into a consistent winner. I just don't see a path to it, in this conference.

2nd: I'm not certain Barnhart will be a part of that conversation, when the time comes. He'd be fine with just having hired Stoops, but that contract extension is a multi-million dollar millstone that will sink him, I think.

I would be willing to bet that Brohm isn't even on Barnhart's radar. When he does get around to looking at Brohm he will be coaching at another school. Once again Kentucky loses out due to short sightness.

I just don't get it. We lose to Florida the last two years by a combined 11 points. In hindsight, Brown was a great OC. Dawson was a very good one. In all of that was Eliot. He had the "luxury" of having offenses who could sustain drives and freshen up the defense. So, what the heck has happened? I really do not think Gran is as bad as it seems.

I'm not defending Eliot, but not even Nick Saban could overcome that talent deficiency. He'd get better play, to be sure, but that's just not power 5 talent. Not even on the ends.

I think the defense took some major hits, Barker is at the very least inconsistent/not ready, thus you get a poor team.

You could look at the defensive roster and see that this was possible. We lost so many of the guys who made plays for us last year.

If Barker comes out 2nd half, then it's more confusing than what it is. Our coaches overthink it too much. It's really not that complicated. Or is it?

I think you have to look at the whole body of work not just the last 2 games. I ask myself, has the KY defense gotten any better or has it made any type of improvements with DJ. I believe if one is being honest you have to say no. Kentucky defense has not made much in the way of improvements with DJ Eliot.

The thing that stands out to me is that, no matter what miracles a coach could pull, the talent absence on the front seven isn't just bad enough to affect this year. It's so bad that it would need two Fantastic years of recruiting and development just to get beyond it. The guys you see now are the guys that will be playing next year, too, folks.

If we have Tubman, Hatcher, and Meant we are obviously better and that gives three off these guys another year to grow and mature. Regardless the talent we could have, the defensive coaching would negate it.

                              Barker starts.

                              That is an unjustifiable decision.
