I think it has less to do with where anyone went to high school than with the fact that U of L leads the NCAA in giving athletic scholarships to kids who get thrown out of other schools for criminal conduct.

Some schools seek an edge by bringing in kids from Texas. Some schools seek an edge by bringing in kids from south Florida. Some schools seek an edge by bringing in kids from junior colleges. U of L seeks their edge by being the go-to place for any player whose criminal record ends their career elsewhere.
