For his sake, he better hope the guy he bought it off of shorted him, because a pound or more is a felony. Anything less than a pound is a misdemeanor and he could beat the trafficking charge. Not as many opportunities in life for felons as there are for the rest of us. Forget his NFL dreams, he will be fighting the rest of his life to get a better job than a burger flipper. He better learn a trade and be a plumber or an electrician.

A half pound is a felony in Kentucky.

Well, I am not a pothead and I don't keep up o the laws of possession. I was using the information from the Gatewood Galbraith book, The Last Free Man in America, where he got a young man off because he had less than a pound. I guess the law has changed since then.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people never seem to learn. He was in trouble before, and escaped virtually unscathed and comes back and gets in trouble again.

With the current administration's efforts to empty our jails of perpetrators of "victimless crimes", this young man may avoid prison time.

Differs from state to state. Anything under eight ounces is a misdemeanor in Kentucky (which is pretty generous).

Only thing to do now for Hatcher is pray that he gets his life in order and does what he needs to do to take care of his family and himself. Too bad he had a real chance to be a great story one day. I guess he still could become a great story depending on what he does from here on out.

Work with a guy that played ball with Hatcher at Trinity. He said both him and Quick from UL both absolutely could not lay off the stuff. Sad to see because the dude had legit talent.

I don't want anyone like that repping my University, but I am not ignorant as well. EVERY school has these idiots. Why it always has to be in his car is a problem. Sounds to me like he is dealing it.

Absolutely. A pound usually isn't a personal stash.

                            Unless you're Ricky Williams.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.
