Trouble is we should have lost to two other overmatched teams THIS year but managed to eke out wins against ULL AND Eastern.
Three times in one year shows there's problems somewhere, somehow.

Frankly, I'm not sure we were a better team than WKU was in 2013, and sadly, I'm still not sure in 2015.
      Western beat Vanderbilt.

What about the 4 over-time loss to Tennessee in 2007? What about the 2009 loss to Miss State when we played them at home? They finished 5-7 and we were 7-6. I remember that game. We didn't look like we wanted to play football that day. There were others and I guess some might argue that we weren't the better team. Those were just two games that came to mind.

The question was about the Stoops era. I understand your point however.

            Thanks for the link.

We've had National top 30 recruiting classes but they were still near the bottom in the SEC. I'm not sure what it's going to take to get to the upper tier without cheating. IMO the better players that want to and will play in the NFL go to the schools running a pro style offense. One of the reasons I don't like the Air Raid offense ( or whatever they are trying to run). Like Bball kids that want to go the NBA are going to play for Cal because they know he will get them prepared for the NBA.

                True...

I don't think system matters that much in terms of NFL draft status.

Agreed. No matter what system you are in, CBs still cover WRs, WRs are still tasked with beating DBs, linemen still block and try to shed blocks, QBs still take snaps and run, hand off, or throw. Defenses still need to line up balanced with the offense.... and that's the frustration here. We didn't do a lot of those things often enough.

Offensively I believe so. You need a big stud RB to control the clock and beat the other team down. That's like body punches to fighters. You wear the other team down and then you abuse them in the fourth quarter. That is what has happened to us so many times through the years.

A good RB won't play at a team that won't use him that way. I think that's why we lost the kid from Richmond last year
