    ^^^^^this.
I'm not sold this coaching staff has a handle on how to control this crew. This should have been one of the easier games of the season. Three td lead to zip???? I knew that we had questions on defense.....but if two guys are worth three touchdowns we got way, way, way far to go.
If we want to say this ULL crew was 'well coached'......look at what we got coming up.

A problem like that, if there is one, is much harder for a coaching staff to correct than physical mistakes, in my opinion.
There were a lot of things that I didn't like last night but one positive was that they found a way to win it. Too many times in the past the 40 pts would have been ULL and we were the losers. The other positive was J.D. Harmon, turnovers were the difference and he was responsible for half of them. He played a very good game.

One thing that concerns me with this coaching staff is our apparent inability to adjust to QB changes. We didn't adjust in the Louisville game last year and we didn't last night when they changed QBs.

QB has to get better at hitting open receivers, Horton needs to be in the game along with Boom and Kemp and D Line needs to quit lining up 1 yard deep giving away that first yard. Lewis is the real deal. Elam did make some plays but there were several times the guard or center moved him yards down field. He has to hold the line. Mean Reggie Meant was solid. Westry will get there quickly. Tackling needs to improve in the open field. We need our 2 missing guys on D badly.
Pat was late with way too many throws last night.

I think the team thought the game was over before it was and lost focus. Coach Stoops should have their full attention this week; but I am not optimistic about the next three games.

I thought PT missed several reads last night. D-Line allowed to many long 1st down runs. More worried about SC than I thought I would be.

After watching it for 2nd time, Dawson has to do a better job of adjusting. ULL adjusted after getting burned on deep plays, playing the DBs with soft coverage playing into Towles weaknesses. Dawson failed to adjust after that. The RT was awful last night, slow-footed on stunts and speed rushes. They better mix up their pass rushes if they're sticking with a 3-4. The defense won't survive that kind of pace on offense, they were gassed in tat second half. Also, UK kept the same defense after the QB switch, if the announcers (who were terrible) knew tat he lost the starting job b/c of an inability to throw, maybe they should've adjusted. They played like a younger version of last year, which isn't good for their progression.

I agree with others that I think it was mostly a monumental slip of teamwide concentration. When you start missing extra points you know attention to detail has wavered.

I think it was sort of like a sugar high there at the beginning: place is going crazy, you're playing well, you get a lead that looks insurmountable...and then all of a sudden there's this crash and you just lose focus. Five minutes later it's a game.

In that way the performance might have actually helped UK. A four-touchdown beating offers up very little in terms of teaching points for Stoops and his staff.
