Bama on to the 2nd round

Sort of surprising to me, honestly. Bama has looked like a juggernaut at times, but also pretty ordinary at other times. Fell behind 17-0 by midpoint of the 2nd quarter and looked completely out of sorts on offense. 6 minutes later, they were tied at 17 and had all the momentum thanks to a couple of big plays and an awful pick 6 by Mateer who looked like he was throwing to a spot when the WR was running to a totally different spot. Easy INT and 30-yard return for the TD. On to play the Hoosiers who will give them all they want, if not beat them outright.

Miami-A&M ought to be a good game. Miami is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde this year. If Jekyll shows up, they can definitely win the game. If Hyde shows up. A&M will blast them.

Tulane - Ole Miss, even without Kiffin, I think Ole Miss wins by 14 or more.

JMU - OR should be one-sided with Oregon winning by 20+ points. While I respect JMU's team and know that, every so often, a lesser program will pull a big upset, I can't see that happening today. OR would have to commit 3+ turnovers and gift JMU 10+ points for that scenario to play out, imo. Oregon wins and moves on.

Kinda felt like Oklahoma gave the game away.

I read that Sumrall's dad died either last night or the night before.

Why are today's games on TNT? Guess I won't be watching them.

Irks me to no end. A big middle finger to CFB fans. By all means, let's televise two playoff games on a station that hasn't carried a single regular season game. NFL has done the same thing with some of their playoff games. I pay to have ESPN specifically for CFB season and TNT broadcasts two playoff games? Screw that.

ESPN didn't want to go head to head versus NFL games. And they by leasing those games out they get get to recoup some of the money they shelled out for the playoff package. They did the same thing last year. It sucks. College football needs a more dedicated TV partner.

To no one's surprise, the two teams that never should have been included look like they had no business being in the playoffs. Ole Miss crushed Tulane and JMU is being crushed by Oregon. As much as I hate Notre Dame, they were a much better team than either of those two.

I agree. JMU shouldn't be on the same field with Oregon

Same with me. I didn't get to watch a minute of those games because I don't pay for anything that includes those channels. I'm kind of mad about it.

College football playoffs needs to be the 12 best teams, not what they are doing now.

TNT did have a few games this year. IIRC they were BIG10 or BIG 12. SEC is the only 1 network conference. All the others have been on multiple.

For the 2025-2026 season, TNT Sports (Turner Sports) heavily features NCAA Basketball, especially BIG EAST & Big 12 games and March Madness, alongside a growing role in the College Football Playoff (CFP), broadcasting first-round, quarterfinal, and semifinal CFP games, plus Big 12 football and various bowls, offering extensive coverage across TNT, truTV, and Max during this transitional year for college sports rights.

SEC missing out on TV deal. I bet you add up all the deals the BIG 12 is getting and it is not as far off as once thought. Still probably 35 to 40 mil a team vs 55 or 60 mil a team in BIG 10 and SEC. But you gotta do what you gotta do as a conference.

I told my buddy before the Alabama / Oklahoma game I thought Alabama would win. I watched the first game and Alabama was the better team. They just continually shot themselves in the foot with turnovers. They outgained OU in the first contest by almost 200 yards and possessed the ball for 34 minutes. This time around, OU jumped on them early but after the first quarter Alabama was clearly better. Anybody complaining they're in over ND needs to be more concerned with Tulane and JMU. Ole Miss had already beaten Tulane 45-10. Letting them in was ludicrous.
