IMO, the traditional bowl season we have seen for years is going to go away or be drastically minimized. We know that the LA Bowl has already announced this years game was the last.
The biggest factor comes down to money. A lot of schools, especially those that play in the smaller bowls, lose money. If a school can choose between keeping money in the program for revenue sharing or playing in low tie bowl, they will most likely keep the money.
Like many of you, I don't mind all of the bowls as I enjoy college football in general. But I think we will see a major shift over the next few years with more CFP games added and less teams playing in bowl games.
