Barring a truly miraculous football turnaround this year, I believe Stoops will walk away with a negotiated buyout in November, and possibly earlier. He’s got his pride and won’t want to lose every last bit of the good will he earned by staying too long. Just my view.

I would have to think that Barnhart has to have a plan in place for a buyout. Everyone can talk about possibility of a new coach, but Barnhart has already shown his hand. He has placed basketball over football with the revenue sharing. It will be difficult to get a decent new coach with them knowing where the AD stands

There’s a chance this team gets zero SEC wins. I don’t dislike Stoops but no idea how you keep him. He wanted out, got rejected and has stunk it up badly since. Hard to see him righting the ship.

I think Stoops is done after this season regardless of record. 2-3-4 wins won’t make a difference.

It feels like he's done to me.

Stoops seat should be so hot that it is on the Space X launch pad right under the rocket ready for takeoff. Is it, only MB knows and he is asleep at the launch panel. At this point Stoops might have trouble getting a DC job somewhere.

I think he’s been “done” since at least the end of last year and possibly even earlier in the sense that his tenure has run its course and it’s hard to see us getting back out of the basement as long as he sticks around.

Whether that means he’s gone may be mostly in his court. If he feels similarly and decides to retire or look for another job, that might be best for everyone. If he decides to stubbornly try and stick out the contract, then the buyout is enough of a problem that I’m not convinced we’re able to pull the trigger. I’m definitely hoping for the former scenario, but I won’t pretend I know what he’s actually going to do.

A CHANCE we get zero SEC wins? We're already 0-2. We have zero shot in the next 3 games. I don't see our battered team at 2-5 going TO Auburn and coming away with a win. Our only shot at an SEC victory is to hope that Florida is just as dysfunctional as we are and is falling apart entirely by the time they come to Lexington.

Stoops is not the problem. He's not a great coach and not an awful coach. The problem is the attitude UK as a school has towards football. Recruiting has to become a priority, then winning has to be a priority. Win and then win bigger, and the results will come. The UK isn't putting an Alabama effort into football. We're putting a last-place Kentucky effort into football. Nick Saban would lose at UK until UK decides to get serious.
The value of time is beyond computation. Life is too short to be trifled away. We have but a few days of probation in which to prepare for eternity.

This team will be lucky to win 4 and next year is shaping up to be 3 wins. While the SEC generates a ton of revenue, putting only 40k fans in the seats will put a big crimp in the athletic budget.

I think Stoops would be honorable and let the university pay him out over time to lessen the blow but I just don't see how we can keep him unless we just really don't care about being successful in football any longer. If he stays, it won't be long until the cupboard is as bare of talent as it was when he first came on board.
                      I have no faith.

If Stoops were honorable, he wouldn't take the buy out at all.

                      He doesn't deserve it.

                      These buyout clauses are criminal.

                        Sad but true.

The likelier outcome, though, is that Florida has risen just enough to be too good for a Stoops coached team to defeat.

UK can afford the buyout. Watch and see. It’s a shame we have to go through this season with Stoops. It will be a waste and we start all over again next year.

I mean other schools don't mess around if the coach isn't getting the job done they fire the coach contract or not. The problem is Mitch is still here and he would have to hire yet another coach and give another coach another stupid contract. Until he's gone we're going to be in the endless mess. The biggest problem is Eli loves him some Mitch so Mitch isn't going anywhere until Mitch is ready to go.
