The '65 team was the first team that I definitely remember following. When Norton broke his leg, I literally cried. I was 9 years old that year(quite a bit younger than you I may add ).

If my math is right, I would've been 13 and frankly didn't know Kentucky had a football team. I was much more interested in trying to figure out the opposite sex at that time - for all the good that's done me. That was back when there were only 3 TV stations and all of them didn't come in all that clear and all I ever saw was Notre Dame football highlights every Sunday. Geez - I still hate those guys!

I was also 9 and was extremely disappointed. What a great team. Three first round draft picks at a time there were less teams. Oh how close we were on several occasions of doing great things. What might have been that season's outcome without that injury. Would we have one the last two games and gone to a big bowl? We were ranked 10th and passed on a Gator Bowl offer waiting for bigger things. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. I still believe we can do this again and get over the hurdle. Loving the images of old players on this post. Thanks.
