I don't know about all that... Injured or killed?

It was an embarrassment for the SEC for sure, but our storming the field is more dangerous for sure in that it is far more likely that someone falls or get trampled in that situation.

I sometimes miss the days in Commonwealth when we scored a touchdown and EVERYONE threw whatever was in their hand at the time in celebration. (maybe that was just a student section thing)

The thing BBN need keep in mind is, "There but for the grace of God go I". I have posted a lot of guff about UT fans and I stand by it, but if there is a late game, game-altering call that looks like we are getting hosed against UT, UF, or UL, I could see some of our fans doing the same thing. Especially if they have already taken a scoop and score TD off the board earlier in the game.

I have been at Rupp when the coaches have had to get on the mike to tell fans to stop throwing crap on the court after a terrible call.

Probably could happen lots of places. I felt I was in the minority when I felt embarrassed when a certain ref (Higgins) royally screwed us in basketball and his personal business info and address were posted in case anyone wanted to go valdalize a bit. Bad calls have been part of sports since sports began. Sometimes refs are “on the take.” For all I know he may have gotten rich on that game. But more likely he just isn’t very good. Perhaps his biases effect his eyesight. That situation didn’t put thousands—including kids—in harms way, but still the info would not have been researched and released if harm were not meant to come from it.

I’m proudly part of a rabid fan base but sports need to stay sports and life needs to be life. But lots of generally rational people felt that was perfectly legitimate behavior.

Higgins keeps popping up and that game will never be forgotten. IMO, Higgins is not a very good official, but that game has very little to do with my opinion. How he continues to make it far into the tournament is always puzzling to me. I don't think he's on the take, he's just not a good ref.
