Why would Coach Marrow leave a asst. coaching job making $600,000+ a year versus a head coach job that may pay $325,000 a year? I’m basing the Youngstown State job pay on what Bo Pelini was paid. $275,000 is a big pay cut for the headaches of being a HC. I love Coach Marrow and hope if he truly wants a HC job, he waits for a power 5 school to call him. He’s worth as much as any asst. Coach at UK. Pay the man his worth.

We don't know what YS might offer. Pelini was still getting millions from Nebraska. His daughter also plays softball at Pitt right there.

From what I can find out is the highest paid FCS HC is in the $450,000 range. 95% of them are &350,000 or less. UK needs to push Coach Marrow up among the highest paid asst. coaches at Kentucky. The man is the biggest reason for UKs football improvement.

You mean he's not already one of the highest paid asst. fb coaches at UK?

If he is making $600K now, it would be nothing to pay him $1 million.

White and Gran are in the 875-900,000 range. Morrow is 3 or 4 in salary at 600,000+. Question, who of all on the staff would you think is the most valuable to UKs football long term success.

Vince is an important part of Kentucky Football resurgence with identified/committed recruits resulting in winning Football. Staff changes are inherent with good Football teams however securing Marrow financially makes sense to me based on his demonstrated impact regarding our Football success.. UK football has gone from laughable wins to now a couple plays/players away from contending for the East Division. Can't start loosing key assistants...keep the momentum going forward!

I would imagine it would be Marrow, mainly because of his recruiting prowess. I'm not sure UK could find a replacement for him who could do anywhere nearly as good as he's done with recruiting.

So glad he’s staying. He deserves a chance but he’s making more where he is, I believe. Hope he gets a raise.

HUGE!!!! I trust Stoops and administration understand Marrow's importance to UK's success progression. A raise bump is prudent to be in line with other SEC upper level programs. It makes me wonder if Marrow 's position title containing Associate Head Coach as a way to provide him way to lead program should Stoops departs at some point due to his program success.

I can't tell you how much reading this post meant to me. Having a hard working and successful recruiter on our Staff is a huge win for Kentucky Football. Glad yiu're still with us Coach Morrow! GO CATS!!!

Great news for the program. Also a reminder we need to be getting ready. A lot of these guys want that next challenge.

"Associate Head Coach" sounds like a position that would be a step ahead of offensive or defensive coordinator positions. But in reality it seems to be a title given out of respect for his abilities. Would other power 5 teams consider him a top candidate for a head coaching position having never been a coordinator?

His background is playing and coaching TE's. His strengh is recruiting. I don't know whether he should be considered for OC next time the position is open or not here but I'm sure glad he's staying and hope he will until a real top opportunity is offered to him. We all acknowledged his importance to our resurgence.

Titles are odd things. I believe Grans title is actually Head Coach in Charge of Offense.....instead of offensive coordinator. I think he wrangled that title since he was going to be third OC in three years at the time.
