I misunderstood the original post and thought we were talking about Gatewood and not Wilson. If Wilson is healthy enough he obviously participates in spring practice. If Gatewood has to sit out for a season why would you give him reps in the spring that could go to guys who could potentially play next year like Gilmore?

No wonder we haven't heard anything about Gatewood's waiver application, it's just being filed this week.

Too bad he won't be eligible. What if Wilson sits?Last edited by Blue Heaven; 08-04-2020, 12:49 AM.Isaiah 5:20Comment

No it hasn't just guessing. Wilson said he has a lot to think about about playing during this time because he has a kid on the way. Just throwing it out there.Isaiah 5:20Comment

A lot of people are jumping to the conclusion that he is thinking about not playing. Maybe he is, maybe he is referring to something else completely.Comment

And, just like that, this rumor is put to rest.

So....back to the original topic. Yes, I know we’re waiting to hear, so not that line of the discussion.
My question, if he is cleared (as with any transferee who is cleared) they qualify for an extra year of eligibility per the NCAA rules for this year. BUT! If you’re a transferee who is not cleared, do they also get an additional year? Use the Mays kid from GA to TN who was denied eligibility for this year. He would have gotten an extra year if cleared. Wondering what his situation is now.

The fact that they've decided not to count this year of eligibility if you compete should be reason enough alone to clear everyone who filed a waiver.👍 1Comment
