Maybe not. But it might get better than last year's 10-3. Things are looking up!

Michigan LB Jordan Anthony entered the portal, as did Michigan safety J'Marick Woods.

I agree the future's looking brighter than it has in a long time. Back to the '77 team for a moment, it wasn't just their 10-1 record, but they beat Penn State at Penn St., Georgia in Athens, LSU at Baton Rouge and Florida in Gainesville. A little history below if anyone's interested.

Great read Matt. I was 5 at the time. My parents were into it big then but I was just getting bit by the UK bug.

Maybe because he'll have to sit out because of the transfer? If he has to sit out there's no point in giving him reps that people who will play could get. But, that's contingent on him not getting his waiver approved, if he in fact applies for one.

Sorry, but not allowing him to participate in spring practice for that reason would be very unusual. Where did you here that he would not participate in spring practice? As for applying for a waiver, what has he got to lose?

Even if he doesn't play next season, he could be valuable as a member of the scout team. If he's eligible to be on the scout team (I don't know how that works). I bet he could mimic some of the qb's, we'll face next season, a lot better than anyone that will be on the team next Fall.

He will ABSOLUTELY participate in spring practice. (unless he is injured)

I was referring to Terry Wilson not participating in Spring practice. Sorry for not being clear.

Now in that case, I doubt he will...

It seems possible Terry's not ready to go in August...

I think likely. To be back to 100% is probably 18 months. He may be able to play after 10-12, but I don’t ever expect to see the full Terry Touchdown show again. Sadly.

Edit to add: Apparently one can conceivably return to sports after 6 months.

On the scout team, of course if it's allowed. But, if we have two or three other QBs who are healthy in the spring that could potentially see game action next year why would a guy with zero chance of playing get some of their reps? It would be more valuable to the team to let Smith and Gilmore take all of the reps if Scalzo and Wilson aren't healthy because if he has to sit out Gatewood will not take a snap for the team in the 20-21 season. You don't use spring ball to prepare a guy for 18 months from then. If you do you're telling Scalzo and Gilmore to go ahead and transfer because they don't have a chance at playing.

I haven't heard he's not participating for certain, it just wouldn't make sense to give him reps that guys could take who could play. Also he's got nothing to lose by applying for a waiver. I'm not sure if I implied that he did so if so I apologize.
