Critical questions from before the season started are being answered. Could we replace Benny in the running game, despite what apologist will try and tell you, the answer is NO. Could our defensive line remain super competitive without Allen. In SEC play at least the answer is no. Could our defensive back field replace last years losses on talent, the answer is a resounding no. Couple that with the loss of our starting QB to be replaced by a kid who hasn’t been in the system but a couple of months and you have us where we are. It doesn’t help that our coaching staff seems unable to adjust to what’s happening and our O Coordinator has no apparent plan about structuring a game plan to win with the talent on hand. This will be a 5 win season AT BEST

If Bowden doesn't start at qb next game then the whole coaching staff deserves to get fired.Isaiah 5:20👍 1Comment

Bowden looks like our best option. Defenses have to key on him and it opens up holes for others.John 3:3

I didn't watch (I go to bed around 7:30 most nights) and I'm glad I didn't. Open date next week and we typically play badly off a bye week (boy, that's reassuring). I've been patient for the past 65 years. In that time, I've seen a lot of bad coaches and players, as well as some good ones, but I'm about out of patience. I've come to the conclusion the coaching staff can only produce 8-10 wins if they have a loaded team to work, with like last year's, and we know how often those come along (the last one was 1977). Call me a fair weather fan if you wish, but I'm not sure I'll watch another game.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

I don’t blame stoops for the QB situation, but the offense as a whole should’ve looked much better. I am not sure we would’ve fared much better with Terry out there last night.Comment

Also, I'm not criticizing putting Bowden in at QB, but when Walker Wood got ready to go in and he was told he wasn't, I saw a very disappointed young man when he took his helmet off. Something other than what we know, is going on.John 3:3

And where is Xavier Peters.....we waited and waited for him to be ruled eligible......why isn't he out there playing👍 1Comment

I'm not 100% certain we'd be a decent football team even with Terry. We look woefully inept at a lot of positions, and I suspect youth/inexperience is to blame for much of that.
But I also think had that field goal gone in against Florida you'd be seeing a much different group. They look pretty demoralized. The bowl streak is in severe jeopardy at this point.

If this team manages 4 more wins this season it would have to be considered a huge turn around. If do blame the QB situation fully on the coaching staff because Terry is not a first string SEC QB either and then it seems we are forced to play a game who is so injured he can't put any zip on his passes at all. I knew it would be rough if Sawyer want recovered physically what I didn't expect was the ho-humness of the rest of the team. I went back and watched some of the game again and it was never more highlighted than when SC fumbled the ball and 4-5 UK players just watched the ball get recovered by SC. The whole team seemed to quit early on every play, except Sawyer Smith. That kid is trying his hardest but his shoulder and wrist are adversely affecting ever single release then if he does get the ball where it needs to go the receivers are dropping it. This is what I blame on Stoops. You find ways to compensate, you don't just force a kid to or let a kid force himself to keep playing when it is so obvious he is in bar shape. The team needs leaders on the field too. Everyone seems to have quit. The bye week is gonna be rough on us as usual though I hope it gives Smith some time to recoverComment
