I know you old timers have been through this before but watching UK football repeatedly vomit up a game doesn’t stop being a gut punch.

Well I disagree with some and your reasons we lost tonight. It wasn't targeting calls, it wasn't bad play calling. Our defense was doing a great job before the Florida QB got hurt. They took their foot off the attack mode they were in and thought their backup couldn't get it done.
I'm proud of these kids, and especially proud of Sawyer Smith.
And whether you like it or not, all three targeting calls tonight were correct.
I hate it that our FG kicker missed, but I bet he grew up a lot tonight and will win some games for us.John 3:3

Yeah. And that’s the problem. Interpreting a rule versus actually defining intelligently what targeting is is killing this game. Not a single one of those hits deserved ejection. That’s the definition of stupid.Comment

I'm not blaming the refs but the targeting rule had 3 players kicked out of the game tonight. It sucked the energy from the action on the field and put to much in the hands of the refs to dictate the outcome. I do believe they called it as it is written but that doesn't make it not a game breaking rule.
Also MULTIPLE bad play calls in the second half killed the momentum of the team. Why you start running the ball when your QB has been a rock star is just plain mind boggling. Throw the ball and don't settle for a 35+ yard field goal attempt.Comment

Remember, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I happen to not share it, and that's OK.John 3:3

My friend, saying they were correct calls does not make it a good rule. The rule is the problem.Well I disagree with some and your reasons we lost tonight. Can you explain why you like the rule? Also I do believe hitting a guy with your head up and back so as not to make helmet contact will lead to some kid getting their neck broken. Mark my words.Comment

Forget what the rule said. Do you think any of those hits deserved ejection and a 2 half suspension? Forget whether those were the correct calls, do you think those were good calls? Do you actually think that’s a good rule? That an official should be put into a position to impact a game like that?
The rule as defined and implemented is the problem. That’s what we’re complaining about. Nobody’s disputing whether those refs made the right call. We’re complaining about the rule itself.Comment
