    Terry out for the season

As we feared and expected, Terry is out for the season. With a torn patellar tendon. (Official from UK Athletics)

Just a real kick in the nuts for a promising season.

At least it isn't an acl or mcl. Still sucks. Sawyer a different player than Terry. He's faster than you think but is more apt to throw it away than take off.

My biggest concern is not Sawyer, but his backups. From what little I have seen of Wood in the Spring game, he did not look good at all. The only other option is a freshman. We have now lost 2 QBs to knee injuries this year. I almost wonder if Bowden may not be option 3 behind Sawyer.

Seems like we've been in this position before.

Playbook will have to change some. Circle the wagons Cats.

This is a reality with dual threat QB's. Defenses had to be concerned with containment given Terry's speed. Young man could fly. I haven't given up on Wood. Then I understand Gilmore surprised people with his arm. I have no idea of his speed and quickness. No question that this dampens my expectations a bit. We will still have a good team but I thought Terry could have lifted us to another level. There will be some coaches burning the midnight oil preparing for Florida. I still think we may very well surprise some people this next Saturday. I really feel bad for Terry.

            Damn that blows.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

His injury is more rare and much more difficult recovery than an ACL tear. This injury is about the worst case scenario for him.

I feel bad for Terry, but CS said something about how he couldn't wait for him to get back on the field. Does he have any eligibility left and can he get a medical redshirt?

Absolutely hate it for TW and the team. His #'s were not great last year but the experience was invaluable. I was fully expecting a big jump in his stats.

I have read/heard from multiple people that a patellar isn't worse than an acl/mcl?

According to the herald leader guy they quoted, it’s much rarer and much more difficult to rehab from. It’s also very difficult to regain his explosiveness once he’s back too.

Not to say he cant be a very good and effective quarterback when he returns, but it’s very hard.

Terry is currently in the fourth year of the five to play four rule. So, he will be eligible next year. This is not an additional year due to the injury, just the normal five to play four.

After next season if he wants one, he'll have to apply for a Medical Red Shirt year and who knows what will happen. He only played 1.5 games so you'd think he'd get it, but the NCAA can be pretty arbitrary, so who knows?
