People may have not renewed tickets or refused to come to the games for a variety of reasons - medical, financial, stadium renovation changes, etc... but I don't know anyone or have heard of anyone "quitting" as a fan of UK. That's nonsense, IMO.Comment

I disagree. Simply because I am not sure there are that many "UK fans" who quit or walked away from being a fan. I just don't buy that's really happened. At least not in any sort of quantity.

I myself tuned out of UK Basketball last year because I found the team so annoying. I mean I cheer for the team and watched half the games, but I was definitely more disengaged. I, however, don't demand unwavering loyalty from the players either.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... This has been a spirited and lively debate. But for those who are determined to prove they are more concerned about the well-being of young people than am I--I just want to clarify...if I could FORCE any player to play a game--would I do so? Not In a million years. At no point have I denied that each player has to make his own decision. I have also never said or felt that these guys owe me anything at all.
But I have been part of teams before and even though it may be old fashioned I was taught in sports and professionally that you do owe it to a team to give your best. You each depend on one another to finish the job or the game. And you've played the last 30 games...what's so different about the 31st?
But still--you choose to sit out there's nothing I can do about it. But to be disappointed is my right. And much more so the right of you're teammates. And the real beauty of it is you don't have to give a crap that I am dissapointed. Good luck in your future either way. I just think you SHOULD play, not be FORCED to play.👍 1Comment

Go back and read old posts on this forum over the years from outraged people who are "done" with this team for one reason or another. Not for forever, but for a season or few seasons. Perhaps that is mostly hyperbole by those angry in the moment, but I get where the criticism comes from.

I'd like to see them play in the bowl game but I get the risk of injury. Look at the QB at UCF chances are good that he'll never play again. But bowl games help prepare for next year, players who might not get much game time will and the coaches can see how they will perform in a real game situation.

To be clear. I do not fault any player that wants to protect their future. I am not angry with any player or trying to boycott if they do not play. I am genuinely not as interested in the game if its not the team we have fielded all year. I still support my team, I want them to win but its not the team I watched all year.
My other point was this....Skipping the bowl game for health issues makes perfect sense. It was just a curious situation to me that when your stock rises, why do you wait for a few games to sit out? I guess because I see the bowl game as very important. Its only my opinion. I don't think there is a right or wrong.Comment

Allen put an end to the speculation about not playing.
Top five draft projection be damned, Josh Allen is putting on the blue and white one last time. The best defensive player in college football just announced on Twitter that he will play in the Citrus Bowl to help his team settle some “unfinished business”: pic.twitter.com/NvLbziVJxC — 41 (@JoshAllen41_) December 7, 2018 What an awesome […]Comment

Neither had I. His name was being thrown out there on other sites due to some...SOME...stating he was a top TE pick in the draft.
Point is, I haven't seen Anyone except UK FANS saying any player was going to sit....no coach, no player, no UK administration's person....nobody.
I realize it could very well happen. Not a thing I can do one way or another.
I also think our fan base is one of the strangest ones I've ever seen looking for storm clouds behind silver linings.
For a historic....HISTORIC football season, I have read more incredibly negative up to almost hate filled posts across the internet (especially at the OC) than is believable.
I want to see the program get better as much as anyone, and I've given PLENTY heat to coaches AND players....but reading around, you would think we are Alabama or Ohio State going into a tailspin.👍 3Comment
