Eddie Hran has never had a QB here he really trusted enough to open up his offense. Add to that with him never seeing the caliber of defenses he sees in the SEC and you have a very erratic offense. A. Ver good QB ( like the one we played against today) can make a coach look like a genius. Kenneth Cutclife is a perfect example

Your guess is as good as mine. But Brown, Dawson and Gran had high powered offenses before they came here. I am trying to be positive Steve but it's hard to lately. We have regressed on both sides. Vandy smashed this team by 4 scores. I am still giddy with 8 wins. But my oh my what could have been!
Let's smash those dirty birds next week!Last edited by Blue Heaven; 11-18-2018, 05:43 PM.Isaiah 5:20👍 1Comment

I think Mark Stoops is kind of playing with the hand he dealt himself.
receivers that can't receive is a big problem. A quarterback that over thinks pulling the trigger is another.
As for Gran.....he had a lot more toys to play with at Auburn, and at Cincinnatti didn't face the athlete's or mad scientist defensive coordinators he does now.
Having said all that, the offense can be infuriating, and CMS loves milking the clock, shortening the game.
i don't understand not using the tight end position. I don't understand a six yard out on third and ten. I don't understand not using three back rotation if you run power I don't understand not a FEW more targets to keep the receivers awake, at least
Gotta say though....I like the wins more than high scoring lossesLast edited by 40bill; 11-18-2018, 07:07 PM.Comment

Any good coach plays to his teams strengths. The strength of this team is playing defense and running the ball. It's most certainly not trying to run some kind of hurry up, throw the ball all over the place type of offense.
Is it boring to watch? yes. Is it predictable? Somewhat. But it has netted 8 wins. I would guess playing the type of offense some fans beg for would have caused the win total to slip.👍 2Comment

In reality, how much of a teams wins and losses are on coaches and how much is on the quality of recruiting. If we had Nick Saban, what would our record be? If Stoops was at Alabama what would his record be? In the end, having a decent football team at the University of Kentucky is a monumental task, almost to the point of impossible. Not many have even had enough success at UK to even be pulled away to other colleges. It's almost a career killer.Comment

In my opinion, to compare how Coaches would or would not succeed at each others schools is not fair to either Coach.John 3:3

I have searched high and low for transfers and graduate transfers in 2019. Other than the ones already mention, I didn't find any who were not already committed elsewhere, or who would fall under the "High Profile" category. There are more than a few QB transfers, a couple-three OL, and maybe a couple of DL So I searched and remain clueless. For me, a high profile transfer would be a WR with 4.3 time in the 40, 6' plus, who can cut on a dime, and with glue sticks for fingers and crazy glue palms. I'll take a couple thank you.👍 1Comment

Matt eluded to it again today on his show when talking about next year's team. Listening to it, I once again think he is talking about Bryant. You have to listen to understand why. It was in the 2nd hr. Not sure if the coaches think Terry just isn't going to work out or what, but I guess you take Bryant if you can get him. It's wierd because I haven't heard anyone else mention this except Matt.Comment
