Was that because he completed two to the other team ?

Apart from the 2 picks vs 1 dropped pick. They are about the same.

People can like who they like, but the idea that Hoak set the world on fire doesn’t match the box score.

Hoak didn't look good to me at all. Has an odd, mechanical way about him. But I realize I'm really not up on how football players should look, so I could be way off there.

Wilson showed some things in the second half, but they were almost all with his legs. Have no idea if he can throw, and his decision-making was terrible through a half.

It could be that we just don't have a solid QB, but I'd give it more than one game.

This is what I keep coming back to.

Why don't we have a solid QB? After 5 years on the job, the staff should have someone waiting in the wings. Other schools seem to have a progression of solid candidates.

Forgot about this being a prediction thread. UF covers and the streak continues; I really hope I'm wrong.

I'm afraid that the last statement here is nearest the truth. Neither of them looked good at all. But as you say it was one game. I would like to chalk that up to first game jitters. But it's hard to see how that will improve much playing at the swamp.

The good news is that I think this team is good enough that they don't need a star qb. They just need to make the easy plays. And of course not turn the ball over. This may be like the LSU teams we have saw for years. Run the ball, play defense and hope the qb doesn't blow it.

On a different note. I see people wanting to see Clark play. While admittedly I know next to nothing about him it's telling that he is 3rd string.

I counted 8 have picked UK and 16 have picked UF ... so far. No particularly encouraging. So we'll have 8 who will say, "Told you so" and 16 who will be really happy to be wrong. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do in game two.

I love eating crow. Barbecued, fried, sauteed, battered whatever.

If this crew breaks the streak, I wouldn't mind raw with feathers.

True. But when Hoak came in he looked like he had a plan and took charge. He wasn't worried about anything but moving the ball and that's what happened. We tend to focus on the almost pick, but Couch has some of those too. It happens.

That was ONE drive. The job was his to win when he started the second half. He didn’t. He stunk and the offense was stagnant. (One first down, two three and outs) Wilson came in and the ball moved and we scored two more touchdowns.

Hoak also stares down the one guy he is going to and can’t avoid pressure.

Cats win by 3. The defense is the star of the show.

I get your POINT. Gheez. I also agree with the rest of your post.

Sorry. Truly. I’ve been listening to people dumping on Wilson and acting like Hoak is Joe Montana, all week.

Well I got the margin right anyway. I was wrong about one thing though. We showed once again we WERE the better team, just like last year. The scoreboard showed it this time too! Honestly I think we were better than UF last year and the gap has only grown in Kentucky’s favor.
                              Go Cats!!!

Kentucky held Florida to 128 yards rushing.

                                Kentucky rushed for 303 yards.

(I meant to post that elsewhere. Sorry.)
