    Coach Stoops comment

I read today that coach Stoops finally viewed the footage of the Snell incident.
in an interview he stated it "was the worst call I've ever seen.." and stated flatly that the official making the call lied about the incident.

Lolololololol....I suppose that Mitch opened the door and must have told Mark Stoops to not worry about any fine for stating the facts.

For all my grousing about Stoops and Barnharts missteps, I sure am tickled they came out on this.

Might not make a difference to em, but if I were a player I'd say "wow....lookit this...both the coach AND the AD sticking up for the players over an official...publicly, not just in the locker room or across a desk."
Won't change anything, but proud of both those guys. Kinda what a football school would do.

It was definitely one of the worst calls I've ever seen simply because it had a direct impact on the final score of the football game.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Don't forget they lost three starters to injury or ejection.

To be honest I think people are whitewashing this whole thing. I would like to know the entire truth. I don't think Benny pushed the ref but I do think he said something and acted like an A-hole to the ref. I'm sure the ref was trying to be polite and wanted to help Benny up. You can see Benny shaking his head saying something. I have a feeling it wasn't " No thank you, sir, I can get up myself" Whatever he said he was enough to piss the ref off. I disagree with the ejection maybe should have been an unsportsman if he cursed or something. The punishment did not fit the crime but I do feel Benny played some part in this.

I get that you can't have coaches making public complaints about every call and that makes sense. But there should be an exception to being punished for complaining if an official makes a horrible call then comes to you and lies to appease you. If you can't have integrity then you should be called out.

If Snell said something, and I'm not saying he didn't, the penalty and ejection wasn't for that. Snell grabbed the officials arms and that's why the whole thing happened. Like you, I don't think it was right, but that's what was called.

The if'n game is one of my favorites...can't lose.
IF Bennie had stayed in I would almost GUARANTEE we would have seen many more runs into the teeth of one of the best rushing defenses in the nation.
I really think the positive of this contest was the team, as Coach put it, came out p*ssed off in the second half and translated that aggravation into hard nosed solid play rather than throwing their hands or trash cans up and losing all semblance of composure.
What are two of Kirby Smarts points???

Gotta balance em out. Second half seems the Cats did.

The official was quoted as saying that Snell didn't say anything to him. So it was just a bogus and horrible call. The PAC 12 backed him up too by saying they stood behind the call. So nothing will happen to them either. So I'm glad Stoops spoke out strongly. Just a terrible injustice done to Snell and also that NW player that was kicked out.

Lol....the pac12 did the politically correct "we support our official" rather than "we absolutely believe it was the correct call"

A conference will most always back the official. But remember, what they say and what they do can be completely different.
