The #4 team this year is looking very deserving. The time off did Bama worlds of good it appears. Totally dominating Clemson right now.

The job Kirby Smart has done at Georgia was very, very impressive going into today's game.

Watching him take the hardest blows that very talented and well-coached #2 ranked Oklahoma could throw, then adjust his gameplan to overcome a 31-14 deficit and win the game, makes him - and what he's capable of doing in the SEC in years to come - even more impressive. That was a pretty remarkable coaching feat IMO. And he's just getting started as a head coach.

I don't think you'll have any real measure of how the SEC measured up this year until after the playoff is finished.

If tonight ends with two SEC teams defeating the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the polls and playoff rankings, which happen to be the Big XII and ACC champions, I think it's pretty hard to say that the SEC is overrated.
Very good point. But now UGA is in the final and Bama is up 10. They hang on to set up another all-SEC final and fans of other conferences will have no argument about who's still on top.😊

Now we just need to climb on up that conference ladder.

Impressive indeed. 1st half to the second against OU was kind of like game 1 against Auburn to game 2 when it mattered most.

Taking the SEC champion to 2 OTs is quite a feat for a first year coach. I think the most impressive stat from that Rose Bowl was that Oklahoma finished a 2 OT game with a grand total of 1 penalty for a mere 5 yards. That's outstanding, especially in such a high profile, high stakes game. That was a well coached bunch.

I don't know how many people saw it in that game, but one of their defensive players only has one hand, and he had a pretty big game today. I'm surprised that kid hasn't received national attention yet. I suspect there is a pretty inspirational story there.
That guy was ALL OVER THE FIELD. A remarkable young man he is!

Bama’s defense looks amazing right now.

If Hurts was our qb, we would be terrible. I think we would make him an rb.

Clemson hung 47 points and 613 yards of offense on Louisville at Louisville this year.

Alabama held them to 6 points and 188 yards of offense.

The difference between the two - 41 points and 425 yards of offense - is enough to win most games.

Florida State managed 7 points and 250 yards of offense against Alabama.

Life is different in the SEC.

Louisville opens against Alabama in the fall.

So an all SEC title game. Alabama defense looked tough. I will say for the offensive talent they have it seems their play calling isnt that great. Also, to be as big of a spotlight job as Alabama is, Nick Saban looks terribly uncomfortable in front of the camera. Almost Ricky BObbyish.

The SEC won the two bowl games that mattered most. I didn't see the Alabama game but it sounds like they are back to where the were at the middle of the season. If so they will beat Georgia next week.

The UGA/OU game was one of the best you would ever want to see. I watched from near the end of the 1st half to the end. Quite a comeback by UGA. OU did a dumb thing trying to squib that kick at the end of the 1st half. That gave UGA life with a late FG. I'm guessing Smart really lit a fire at halftime. UGA mostly shut down Oklahoma in the 2nd half.

Should be a good one next week. I think Bama wins since it looks like they may be back to mid season form.

Interesting that you should comment on Bama's off. play calling. I saw where coach Saban went off on the OC, Brian Daboll, on the sidelines last night.

He did. Can’t rememeber what play it followed, but Saban flipped out on him for a moment.

Truth be told, I don’t think it’s all the OC’s fault. To me, a lot of the blame falls to Jalen Hurts. The talent is there, but I think he’s a poor decision-maker.

I know they have a core of RB but I would use Damien Harris much more. Guy seems like hes always about to break one.

IIRC, it was their second to last offensive series. They had the ball on the Clemson side of the field and went 3 and out I think with two pass attempts. If my leap reading is on point I believe Saban screamed something to the effect of, "RUN THE F---ING BALL!!!!!!!".
