Someone has said that was the largest SEC road win in 61 years by margin. If we aren't good, then we are the best bad team in college football. I'll run with worst good team
Playing conservative on offense? That is an easy complaint and mostly shows ones lack of football knowledge.
In reality, there are only two types of plays that can be called - a run or a pass. Typically a run play is placed in the conservative column by those that mostly have no clue. That's a ridiculous position to take with little or no basis of fact especially in the era of the RPO as the final play call result of the RPO is determined solely by the QB's read of the defense.
I would more apt to respect valid comments/complaints about a specific defensive formation or set but most complaints usually just boil down to the fact that what was called wasn't successful and that is armchair quarterbacking at it's epitome.
That chunk would be the basketball fans that jump on the bandwagon when football wins ??
If you'll take the time to scroll back through the threads (or just take my word for it), you'll see that those of us who are being labeled as "haters" have been here rooting for the team all season long. The "hate" has - at least in my case - been proportionate to our downward performance trend (yes, even as we've won). Yes, I, and others, have been pretty hard on this bunch along the way, but speaking for myself I'm always glad when they win.
I don't see why eating crow is such a bad thing; on the one hand, I guess it tastes bad, but on the other hand, it means we won. I'm glad it's on the menu today.
If you don't accept the bad, without complaining or being critical, then you're a hater and a bad fan or not a fan at all in the eyes of some.
If you create a negative, destructive narrative then you are a hater.
There is talk that there are mainly basketball fans who consider it a hobby to make fun of and keep the football program down. There is ample evidence of that. People showing up on the football board that I've barely seen, offer some destructive narrative, and then disappear again.

Actually, this happens on the basketball forums as well.
The reason: some people use message boards to vent. There are tons of posters that you only see after losses and it's been that way forever.
The sport is irrelevant. What you're seeing there are people who really don't want to use these boards to cheer on the team. That's not why they come here.
They come here for one reason only: to blow off steam. Once they've done that, they vanish. When Kentucky wins the next game, they don't come back, because they're not interested in using the board to chant "Go Big Blue!" or talk about how awesome we are.

The UT, UF, and MissST games create the negative narrative.
Where's this "talk" taking place, John? You in some secret club whose mission is to root out the basketball moles? Sweet Jesus, the evidence is mounting.

Do you know the difference between a negative destructive narrative and constructive criticism?

To his (and others') credit, I'll freely admit to being more negative than necessary at times. Like Will said, in the heat of the moment (game threads), it's just my way of blowing off steam, and that combined with my bleak sense of humor can lead to comments that are sometimes more extreme than they ought to be.
But in my own defense, I don't make even my nastiest comments unless they include some kernel of truth - and that's where I get annoyed with the Johns of the world who only see it as hating or trolling.
Could I be nicer sometimes? Sure. But am I wrong about the team's problems? Not as often as some would have you believe.

Actually, yes. You caught me
The UTK game was a win. Read that thread. You'd think we were getting blown out. A lot of people are missing in yesterday's that participated, too.

Are you one who believes in moral victories? Do you ever interpret a loss as a win in certain categories?
If so, can't the opposite be true, as well? Yes, we won the game, but outside of Benny and Stephen Johnson's toughness, we finished with more things to be concerned about than to celebrate.
I will admit I am one of those who 'cheers' moral victories taken into the context of the season. For example, UK is a team building. Should we list to Georgia by ten or less at Georgia, I would consider that a moral victory. However, if we were sitting at 2-8, I would just consider it another loss in a dismal season.
maybe that makes me a frontrunner instead.

And I think it's only fair to look at the opposite in much the same way. As an improving team, a performance like that against UT, despite the win, was disappointing for lots of reasons.
Spiritof96 Yes, if you read that first sentence and wonder if I read your previous point wrt the "few plays away from 3-6," I did, and I agree with you. We're a couple plays away from being a nine-win.
