    Really weird season

For some reason we feel more like a two win season rather than a six win season. Maybe I should stay off the discussion boards more and just listen to the radio and be happy when UK ekes out a win.
reports are the coaching staff is as unhappy with the fan base as the fan base is them.

Just never expected being a UK football fan and not feeling good about being bowl eligible before deer season opens up.

That's one of our head coach's biggest problems: he lets criticism get to him worse than any coach I've ever seen at Kentucky outside of BCG.

I don't know why I did it, but I read that UTK game thread and I do not want to watch a game with many of the people that participated in it.

I'm glad I did, so I can consider the source of the Vandy predictions. If I hadn't, I'd be posting about how some of them are completely awful. Now I know, there are haters here, and haters hate.

Haters and thise being concerned in Year 5 are two totally different things. You wear the Big Blue Goggles more than any UK football fan I know. Take them off and see it for what it is. Our achilles heel is a talented secondary getting flat out torched play calling wise and fundamentally wise. Geesh man.

Achilles died. This team will lose 1/3rd of it's close games, and most games are close, which isn't anywhere near dying, it's actually being kinda good.

Somebody needs to re-write Stoops' contract that incentivizes wins so that it reflects the UK football hater's expectation that it not have close games.

I've missed two UK home football games in 25 years. A 1992 game against Vandy that was really cold and wet and I fought my half-brother over him not wanting to go, I was in High School. The other I was with Patrick Towles shortly before he committed.

Concern is constructive. I see a lot of criticism that is purely destructive. Read that UTK thread. You'd have thought we got blown out until the end.

I believe anyone who spends time on a team fan site is a fanatic. That being said, maybe there a different classes of fanatics that follow their favorite team.

The Rah Rah fan. Everything is peachy. Nary a neagatice word will be spoken.

The Negative Nancy fan. Nothing is ever good enough. If their team wins by 9, they should have won by 14.

The realist fan. This fan usually praises and/or criticizes his team and coach based on reasonable expectations.

I do believe most fanatics fall into the realist category. Personally, I think I am a realist most of the time, but switch to th extreme of too positive or too negative on occasion.

I have never been more upset with out fanbase. Given where we have come from... our fans are ridiculous. This isn't directed at anyone on this forum BTW, but

I started and deleted a few rants about our fan-base this week. I feel for the coaches and I don't blame them... We score 34 points and people want to fire the OC? The staff are held 100% responsible for everything that goes wrong in a loss and given ZERO credit for everything that has gone right this season!?! Meanwhile we are playing with house money with two winnable games on the schedule and the doom and gloom...

              I better stop...

Don't Spiritof96 , they deserve it. The caustic people don't pay for tickets, they aren't there. They are here. I've seen it. GET "EM.

I meant it at the beginning of the season when I said I was very happy for football season so we can be friends.

For those that don't, we are both on the politics forum and we disagree 95% on the issues of the day, a lot less on normal things, but on football we agree 95% of the time.

Get them! How much they deserve it will depend a bit on the result tomorrow... but the "let's make sure the football team is made fun of all the time" basketball turds are struggling, much like religious fundamentalist Muslims, gosh they are loud.

Readers, if it doesn't apply to you, then it doesn't.

This describes me to a "T". I believe it is also indicative of the majority of fans.

I think a lot of fans aren't as pleased as they could be simply because they see that the SEC East is so down and they feel like we may never see this soft of a schedule again.

We also have two games now that were there for the taking and we couldn't get it done.

Still feel like if we get 8 wins then most fans will be happy. You'll probably never see full-throated support of Stoops though, partly because of the style we play but mostly because he's an unflashy guy. I'm not saying I agree with that, but I can't tell you how many people I know personally who dislike Stoops. I think folks may have a hard time connecting with his personality.

You touched on something I've thought about a lot over the past two or three seasons, Will. The SEC East has been down for awhile now, and we should have been taking advantage of that. UF and UT aren't going to be down for ever.

We're seriously going to regret not beating Florida this year. We'll never have another chance like that.

                            Yes we will.

How can somebody be a hater and fan? I guess you can be, but that doesn't mean I have to approve of it and I can't try shaming into what I think the norm should be. I guess you can try shaming me for shaming them, but whatever. I'm just trying to help out Vince.

I also think people underestimate our competition. As if they aren't trying, as if they don't have good recruiting.

I think this is a great post. The incessant complaining about the play calling is as ridiculous as anything I have ever saw. To the point it's comical as the numbers say the exact opposite of what all the complainers do.
